Second Floor has the outside seating. Lounge area has neat arrangement.

MUST BRING EARPLUGS /OR HEADPHONES! Note: read below.

May 30th opened an account here. They had me switch cards with only small card. Instead of both necklace card with big card. I guess they are going digital. But good luck opening an account?

Should be open later on Weekends. But is not.]

Once you are already in should be easy. ANd should be able to apply online. But they insist going on to desk where the woman after a third time of seeing (usually they change workers at desk every day at the lobby) still 'don't know' and didn't ask anyone Managerial.

My card was lost so switched to orange instead of NPL blue. I think it was stolen, though. Because whoever took know exactly which pocket it was . .

Even the neck strap was took.

Session is separate from others as computer close everything. It's wiped from system so do not keep documents on desktop if you do want to keep them. Once logged in as a patron, After this you still have to type in again card for online website log in.

So my card new card and trying to get digital card. The number for the Patron usage on computers is also a obnoxiously 14 digits long number.

Lost my yoga mat. Note: Lost sunglass.

Returns if on third floor where computers is. Might be at that or the teen desk if lost there. Otherwise Lost And found go to first floor. The closet is right in the lobby

Nice place other than being old...

And lots of computers. Dirty you can bet. But need to be washed with wipees.

There is no cafe. Just seating. Bathrooms are on every floor. Went to 2ND which locked today.

Cuts their hour off even earlier. This is a Main Branch. Tree has many locations even in single Davidson which is a big county.

Very useful and likeable. 1 Star rating is not for employees. I met nice ppl here but the hours are silly.

And the customers are obnoxious.

It's loud and supposedly customers that are loud are addressed. They are not and go crazy. Is Talking library but computer sound is disabled.

Note: Did you know a cop real Metropolitan one came in when I followed Metro or Davidson Cops on FaceBook or Instagram?

That's never happened. Before but it has happened since:

Thank you for using a library rather than...

This is the most beautiful library I've been to. It felt like a library, art museum, and history museum all in one. I wish we had more time here because there was so much to see. I didn't get to see the kids/children's section but it looked massive. On the main floor there were a bunch of board games and jigsaw puzzles. They had a little art collection/exhibit on one floor, and a Women's Voting and Civil Rights exhibit which was very nice. It was moving and inspiring. On the upper floor there's maps and pictures about the history of downtown Nashville. There's a nice courtyard outside with flowers where people can read outside as well.

The library interior is so beautifully designed and structured. I've never been in a library with marble flooring and grand architecture. The people we talked to were helpful and the free parking validation is great. You just have to park in the parking garage, grab your parking ticket and there's a machine that stamps the validation at the front desk. I think the time period for free parking is an hour and a half? I could be wrong.

It's a huge library and I felt like I didn't spend as much time in it as I'd like due to time constraints and so much to see. But I'd love...

Writing this review for any parents looking for tips on getting to the children’s area from the parking garage. There is a parking garage for this library (Google map “library garage” - should be on 6th avenue.) When you pull into the entrance on 6th avenue would advise parking to the left in the garage as this is where the library access is. I believe it’s from 2-4 floors. Also take your parking ticket into the library with you to be validated on the first floor. We did not, and I was too lazy to walk all the way to our car and back in to get it validated (If you forget it was only $10 to park.) When you enter from the garage you will be on the ground level, you can take the elevator or stairs up to the second floor and the Childrens area is there on the left. On Saturdays this month they have a princess and the frog play starting at 10:30am in the theater area. There is a small climbing wall inside, an area for building with Kinect like building toys, and a cool little castle they can climb as well. There are tablets with games as well if...

Maybe it's silly to some, but yes I went to the library on vacation, and it wasn't just because there was a vegan restaurant attached to it (but that was an added bonus!) This library is probably one of the best libraries I've ever visited! It's enormous! There is an entire room just for civil rights, another for women's rights, another just for art books... There's plenty of quiet rooms. They even have real art on the walls! The size is amazing. There's a courtyard on the second floor, that I imagine would be so nice when the weather is warmer! I wish my library at home was like this!

Everything you could think of is here when it comes to your desire of a library. Need old books, archives, or genealogy? Here. Need a computer space or a place to study? Here. Need a WiFi hotspot or a laptop to borrow? Here. Parking is a bit of a trick because you have to get your ticket stamped for the first 90 minutes to be free. The library itself could very easily be an art museum based on it's design and looks on the inside. Very nice, large library with the only downside being how short the free parking is preventing you from staying longer (unless you want to pay $10-20)

Such an incredible library! I would recommend that anyone visiting Nashville check it out. The art in the children's section is fantastic, there are permanent exhibitions on civil rights and women's suffrage, and when we visited we saw a temporary WWII exhibit. There's also a whole section for table games and areas to play. It's clear that this library is an important resource for Nashville's large unhoused community, and no one was being bothered or asked to leave, which is WONDERFUL. It felt like a truly safe, inclusive, and welcoming space.
