Let’s start here: I bought a ps5 from them “refurbished” which then had a bunch of bugs in the controller holder and sticker residue on the outside of the ps5. I go back to complain, and to buy a NEW ps5 after returning the refurbished one, as their refurbished ones aren’t even as cleansed as the pre-owned. Then a few weeks later I need a new headset (it stops working) some hyper X cool looking black and red ones got it say a year and a half before I went to get it replaced on warranty. They give me a different headset claiming they don’t have any that I have a warranty on in stock, didn’t give me an option to order it to my house or the store. I was given a pair of hyper cloud III instead, cheaper than the ones I traded in. I took it because it’s all I was offered. Then the Hyper Cloud III stop working mic light doesn’t turn off and on for mute, then the mic stops working all together, along with the sound in the headset. I go to trade this one in for warranty, I get a pre-owned cheaper version than what I initially paid for.. and it didn’t come with the microphone(which I didn’t realize until I went to game) . I did that on a Saturday, Sunday is my only day off so I took it for leisure; didn’t play on my computer, but I did call costumer service, and they told me to go in and that they would give me a mic for it. Monday through Thursday they close at 7 I get out of work at 5:30 in which is about an hour away, I have to go home and clean myself off as I’m a automotive technician, so I know how to write a story.. Friday(today) they finally close at 9, so I go in to ask for a mic for the pre owned headset that they gave me and they tell me they don’t have any. So I have to use the warranty that I bought on this pre owned headset to get the new one that they ordered 7 days later(in which they didn’t give me the option to order one when I went to trade in my new hyper cloud III). So long story short I paid another 15$ for a new warranty and got a new headset. Since they didn’t give me a mic with the pre owned one , I had to spend another 15$ on their mistake. I feel scammed. When buying warranty they also don’t mention when you go to replace on warranty - they can give you a pre owned version in return. That is a scam, if I went to buy a pre owned headset and got a warranty on it I would expect a pre owned headset. But when you buy a new headset and you buy a warranty for it, you would expect to get a new headset when trading it in for warranty, as a new headset is more expensive than a pre owned. Each time i go to this GameStop i am never disappointed! they always have me leave with a proud smile on my face! (even in COVID-19 through my mask) When i walk in there I feel like the store is a prize! Tried to trade in a rarely used PS4 controller. I’ve had issues with GameStop ripping me off in the past so I made sure everything worked, FULLY CHARGED, and I brought my own charging wire that I kept in my pocket Incase they tried something funny. Not surprising when they tried to charge my controller it didn’t work. So I told them I brought my cord just Incase this would happen. Then what do you know it worked instantly. Cool moved on finishing trading it in then he tried to slap a refirb charge, asked what’s that for, he said it wouldn’t charge correctly cause the port is damaged, when clearly it charged fine with MY cord.
