Amateurs on the weekends. As a local resident I’m very familiar with the way the river outfitters operate. Traditionally I stuck with another outfitter (the largest one in NB) but when I visited on Friday I noticed Felgers had parking on site, so I decided to give them a shot. I was impressed with the pace, lower prices, parking and had decided they would be my new favorite outfitter, so much so I invited some family from out of town to float again the next day with us. We pulled up Saturday when it was busier about 2:00. We got here early (as suggested by the helpful younge lady at the desk) so we would be able to float twice. We had to park offsite (no big deal, free shuttle) and when I returned to turn in my keys I spoke with a very young employee (hard to tell because no one had uniforms or name tags). This is when it started to spiral. He was very disrespectful and I could hear him bad mouthing other customers to his buddies. He told me to give him my vehicle key and get on the bus. We ride down to the river entrance and find out our toobs were left behind (not sure why the driver left without checking for toobs in the trailer). I spoke with the employee there at the river entrance (very helpful and apologetic college kid) and explained what happened. Apparently this happens a lot as he phoned up to the office and told them what happened “again”. He’s then told to send myself back on the next bus to verify and claim our toobs. We wait about 5-10 mins and no bus. He calls back and is now told my whole group has to return. We wait an additional 10 mins and no bus. I ended up having to walk all the way back to the outfitter to speak with someone about our missing toobs. The same rude kid (probably in high school) was standing in the curb with my pile of toobs and smarts off saying “you just got on the bus and didn’t tell us you needed these toobs?” I explained it was himself that told me to get on the bus and he never mentioned I needed to go get my toobs myself from the toob shack. I continued to explain I was there the previous day and I didn’t have to do such a thing and the whole process went flawlessly. So he continues to talk back and explain it’s all my fault. I stopped him and told him to just put my toobs on the trailer and let me go about my day. Finally on the river about 3:30 and Lo and behold we rushed to float to return back to the outfitter by 5:20 to be told they would not let us float again because WE took too long-they said we missed it by 20 minutes. So our trip was cut in half because some little punk was collecting a paycheck instead of positively representing his employer. I appreciate that they give kids the chance to make a buck-my first job was at the competing outfitter decades ago. However some of these kids have no clue what customer service is, nor do they have respect for others. I want Felgers to be successful and I know they can be, but they need to do some quality control on their young employees, they have a couple of bad eggs that are giving them a poor...
Read moreThis place is overpriced for the cheap black tubes they provide and also doesn't stand behind the products they sell. They sold us 2 inflatable tubes with the headrest for $30 a piece which was kind pricey but oh well, along with 2 of the inner tire black rental tubes for $15 a piece for a total of ($90).Very pricey in my opinion but it was a typical weekend and the lines everywhere were backed up so we went with them. One of the purchased floats had a hole somewhere in it and began to leak so we brought it back hoping to either exchange for a new one or at least get help finding the hole so that we could patch it up. We were interrupted mid story to be told by the front desk attendant "sorry I can't exchange anything but you can ask the owner who is sitting right up there on the patio" so we walked over and explained the situation to her as well and was told "yea you know with these floats they tear up pretty easy. There's nothing I can do once you purchase it it's yours" and she proceeded to hand us a patch pack as to say "good luck finding the hole yourselfs". Are you at least going to try and help us or ask one of the attendants to help find the hole or anything? Furthermore why would you sell a product that you don't stand behind or that you know is cheap? Where I come from that's bad business. Way to establish report with the community. It's as though after you got my money you could careless about me and my families experience. At least offer to fix the patch or replace it. It's not as though you couldn't afford either or those two options. Talk about "pinch a penny". Definitely poor customer service not only from the owner but from the front desk attendant. I gave a 2 start because quite frankly the "river rental" is the only experience you have with this place so if they can't do right by their customers in the only aspect of the business then I'm sorry you don't deserve positive feedback. Definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking to have a decent experience from the...
Read moreThis is always our family favorite!! The owner and staff are always kind and helpful. I know people complain about the black tubes but I do hope you read this review 1st!! You have 2 other options than just renting their black tubes.
You can buy the river run tube and day pass You can bring your own tube and pay for shuttle only. They also charge no fees to air them up and transport them for you.
Never think this crew did not think outside of the box because they absolutely did.!!! I will be there this weekend to start this season up. Hopefully we can all make up for not being able to go last year! Miss everyone and hope to see your smiling faces soon!!!!
Also they are about a 5 min walk if the traffic gets bogged down at the river and they are delayed. Just walk up the hill and you will be there in no less than 5 min I was so mad at myself one year for waiting after I found out how close they...
