Consign Consign — Local services in New Orleans

Beware if you are consigning with this store. Recently I had a very bad experience with Consign-Consign. I am moving out of state and brought 22 items for a consignment period of 90 days. Several things did sell, but two items were missing: no idea what happened to a floor vase and a rug that received water damage in their business.and was thrown away without my knowledge or notification. The owner refused to reimburse for these losses.

In addition, a set of chairs were lost (supposedly item tags were missing), then sold, and monies placed in their house account. I was eventually paid about 1/3 of original consignment list price with no documentation of date sold and amount the business received. Another item, a like new condition rug that was originally priced by them at $800, was located by me on their floor which too dirty and worn to sell outright. I had to give away….

Who would ever imagine receiving this type of treatment from a company that relies on repeat business and word of mouth...

DO NOT CONIGN YOUR ITEMS HERE! ITEMS ARE OFTEN MISPLACED OR STOLEN OR JUST THROWN AWAY, I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ITEMS MISSING and was told that they have a contract that they do not have to replace the items or the money and that they are not responsible for items that are stolen thrown away or misplaced my items never even made it to the floor half of the stuff goes in the warehouse and after 2 or 3 months is thrown away you would do better off selling your items at a yard sale then to drop them off here. Not to mention the girls that work there are extremely rude and unhelpful when BM asked to locate your items they just shrug their shoulders and say no clue there are much better consignment stores like Renaissance or...

Totally a bad experience with consignment of my furniture. I was told to bring in furniture and staff would then contact me to discuss pricing. I called them two times within a week of delivering my furniture. I was told they would contact me soon. On my third call, I was told that three pieces sold within that first week. I never knew they had been out out for sale, had no knowledge of how they were priced and had no inkling of what cut the business took. I received almost nothing.
