Catawampus — Restaurant in New Orleans

Omg!! Catawapus and Courtyard Brewery is a match made in Heaven! I came because someone raved about it on Tiktok…I’ll be back because of the food & friendly service! The food & beer selections are a must have!! Started out with a fruity sour beer on tap (great selection!) then ordered my food. Catawapus serves a fusion of Indian/Mediterranean/Mexican. From my first bite I fell in love! This will be a craving place for sure. I got the feta bites with a masala dipping sauce, make sure to blow..cause those baby are molten…but salty, creamy, and crispy! Dipped in the sauce wow! The we had the chicken and rice plate, salty, sour, fresh, savory all at once a full experience. We ended with the roti rollup…some of the same flavors as the chicken plate but wrapped in a roti like a taco. The roti was buttery and crispy and somehow soft at the same time. The chicken stayed in and made for yummy delight. We were too stuffed to try the chicken wing, we will be back for those! The atmosphere is chill lounge vibes inside with A/C. They have a huge outdoor patio that we will be frequenting once the weather cools a bit. Place is also dog friendly! We plan on being regulars for sure. Wow! What a find!! Tucked into Courtyard Brewery is this restaurant with a small but incredible menu!! We got the satsuma marinated chicken over spiced rice as well as roti roll ups. Everything was flavorful, delicious, and reasonably priced. Even the 9 month old loved it! Lol. We'll be back for sure!

Update: We’re not often “regulars” at any food establishments, but we eat at Catawampus every week. The latest special is a French Dip sandwich - incredible!!! The ultimate comfort food!

Another update: Wow! Owen's special tonight was absolutely incredible. The twice-baked squash, topped with toasted pumpkin seed cream and a kick of chipotle chili crisp, was perfectly tender and creamy, with layers of complex flavors that were out of this world. The best food in New Orleans period… I used to pick up to-go three times a week on my way home from work! Since then I’ve had Catawampus cater my parties and I take my family there when they come to visit. It’s so good for everyone, whether you're a vegetarian, vegan or gluten free Catawampus will get you right!! Their cauliflower is so good and their chicken is die for 🌞 Catawampus is so good!
