This was my first visit visit to French Truck. I was looking forward to trying their New Orleans Iced Coffee. I politely asked for “slightly less ice” (their iced coffee is poured over a cup overfilled to the absolute brim with ice). I was told this would be a dollar extra. My face was shocked and the barista told me that with less ice “they need to charge for adding more coffee”. I didn’t ask for no ice. I didn’t even ask for only half the amount of ice. I asked for SLIGHTLY less, and that warrants a dollar up-charge? Would I actually be getting that much “more coffee”? This is absurdity. A small iced coffee is already $5.20 here, which is extremely expensive. You are getting an extremely small amount of actual coffee. Coffee shops like this are just price gouging customers. There are several other coffee shops on Magazine that accommodate this kind of request without a ridiculous charge. I’d rather give my...

This is going to sound really pretentious, but we've been on the hunt for true quality espresso since visiting Italy last year. If you've been there, you know what I'm talking about. We've been studying espresso trying to recreate it and visiting hundreds of coffee shops in various States trying to find someone who's figured it out. French truck has figured it out - it's the same melted chocolate consistency and taste as in Italy, or at least damn near close. Best espresso we've found so far outside of Italy, this isn't just another hipster pop up coffee shop - these people are true scientists and know their stuff. There are also nice touches like a sleek modern interior, self serve water that has fresh fruit in it, and they even have a punch card for...

In A Nutshell:

-French Truck Coffee is a local coffee chain with locations around NOLA, Louisiana & Memphis. -They source from origin bringing you the freshest beans in small batches & roast them for you promptly. -During hot & muggy days like the current heat dome we're experiencing in the Dirty South, you'll be happy to down a nice cold cup of New Orleans Iced Coffee. -Not only is the coffee amazing, but the type of ice they use is my favorite crushed ice that pairs perfectly w/ this iced coffee. -I like the name French Truck Coffee along w/ the bright yellow color they use. -You can even purchase their coffee at local grocery stores too.

Overall, if you are NOLA, you need to stop by for some...

After dropping our friends off for their cruise, my husband and I were on the hunt for coffee. Yes, there was a Starbucks close by, but I wanted to try something new and someplace local. A quick search led me here, and we were very glad we visited. The place looks small on the outside but is very roomy inside with a spacious and beautiful outdoor patio. The entire space is bright and airy and is a great place to relax before starting your day. The young woman behind the counter was very helpful in answering my questions, and our coffee came out quickly. If you are visiting the area, do yourself a favor and give French Truck Coffee a try. It's a welcome change from the usual stand-by!

I LOVE this local coffeehouse...I had only previously been to the newer location that is at Dryades and Cadiz, I lived two blocks down from it when I lived at my former address. After leaving New Orleans in late 2016 to spend two years in Georgia, I recently moved back and finally got my first morning cuppa at the Magazine Street location...just perfect. Gorgeous, bright, airy space, friendly staff, the medium roast brewed coffee I chose was perfect. We did not linger that day in the inviting interior, we strolled with our to-go cups, but I could have spent a very happy morning there. Top notch coffee, just as I remembered...the perfect welcome home to my 504.
