Not happy. I live in an apartment overlooking Whitey Ford Field. My wife and I were very happy to move here from the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The first night here there was a party in the park that went until 4 am with loud music, fireworks, etc. Also, the flood lights on the ball field were on the entire night. Of note, there are eight poles each standing 80 feet tall. Then on each individual pole there are eight separate flood lights. That's a total of 64 flood lights glaring into my apartment every night ALL night long. We asked about it and were told that the lights are supposed to be turned off at 11PM. They had petitioned the parks department and were able to "work that out". Even worse, when I asked why we had not been told about the lights and parties I was told, "we don't have to divulge that information to you". OK, well where I am from that is considered a lie. They also told us they were unable to do anything about the lights and we ourselves would need to call the NYC Parks Dept. According to the NYC Parks website, the lights are supposed to turn off at 9pm. We have made numerous calls to the Parks Dept and no one calls back. The building itself is very nice but my apartment is lit up all night long every night and I have with music from block parties every weekend pouring in as well. Bottom line is Durst and their employees willfully lied to us / withheld information that would allow us to make an informed decision about whether we would be happy with the apartment - and the rent isn't cheap We have raised the issue a number of times. No resolution. My advice is don't move here. I am just waiting to learn the other things the Durst corporation has withheld from us or outright lied about. Take your money somewhere else.

My husband and I have been in 10 Halletts for 5 years. We actually moved in when there was nothing around and the building was still under construction (literally). We have met some of the most wonderful people here and truly enjoyed what Astoria, NY is all about! Greg is absolutely amazing, friendly, knowledgable and goes the extra mile whenever you need anything. The concierge crew welcomes you home with a smile and is always ready to assist (shout out to Chevelle and Danielle). We stayed in a one-bedroom with a unique layout and the view was amazing. Now, with the new buildings, you barely have the view but it's still a great place to live. The building is safe and if you have a car, best to speak to Halletts Point Garage/City Parking to get an idea of monthly parking expenses. Gym lovers - definitely take advantage of the gym on the 4th floor. We were there on a daily basis and Halletts is always introducing classes in the party room/area so be sure to check out their events calendar/emails. If you need to make a quick run for groceries, you have Brooklyn Harvest downstairs. And the best highlight of the area right now is the Dunkin Donuts that opened up before Christmas 2024! Astoria Park is not far, taking a walk there is always great and be sure to plan accordingly if taking the shuttle to the train station. Note: the shuttle does not operate over the weekend. Loved the experience. Definitely will miss living here. Good luck to Durst on the 2 new buildings launching soon, which I heard will have amazing perks/amenities!

I would not recommend living in this building due to persistent marijuana smoke infiltration and management’s lack of meaningful response. For several months, I have been involuntarily exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke seeping into my apartment, which has seriously affected my health. The situation escalated to the point where I had to visit the emergency room due to severe nausea caused by the exposure. Despite submitting a written complaint over a week ago, the issue persists, and I have yet to receive any updates or communication from management regarding what steps are being taken to resolve it. I have video documenting the smoke infiltration through readings on smoke detector and have consistently reported incidents to the concierge whenever the smell occurs—which has been daily, as my neighbor appears to be a frequent user. I even helped identify that the smoke was entering through the electrical outlet on the wall separating my unit from my neighbor’s. When I tried calling the property manager for an update today, I was told he was “in a meeting” for the entire day, and my call went unanswered. It’s disappointing, as I have enjoyed living at 10 Halletts Point for the most part in the past two years. However, the management’s inaction and lack of transparency have made me question their commitment to tenant health, safety, and rights. It now feels as though raising legitimate concerns only results in being ignored rather than helped.

HELLO MY NAME IS LISA LEWIS AND I CURRENTLY LIVE AT 10 HALLETTE POINT ASTORIA AND TODAY OCTOBER 23RD THE SECURITY LET UNIDENTIFIED PEOPLE UP TO MY APARTMENT AND THE UNIDENTIFIED PERSON WAS WITH ONE OF THE MAINTENANCE WORKERS

WHEN I HEARD THE KNOCK AT MY DOOR I ASKED THREE TIMES IN A VERY CLEAR VOICE WHO IS IT AND I GO NO RESPONSE ONCE I GOT NO RESPONSE I FELT REALLY UNEASY ABOUT THE KNOCK AT THE DOOR AND WHOM EVER IT WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY FRONT DOOR

MIND YOU THERE'S NO CAMERAS IN THE HALLWAY IN THESE HIGH RISE BUILDINGS SO I CALLED DOWN STAIRS TO MONIQUE THE SECURITY GUARD THAT WAS WORKING AND I ASKED HER DID YOU SEND ANYONE TO MY APARTMENT SHE SAI YES I SAID WHO SHE SAID THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT LADY AND A MAINTENANCE WORKER I DAI WHY U DIDN'T CALL ME AND LET ME KNOW SHE WWAS COMING UPSTAIRS

MONIQUE REPLY SHE DIDN'T GIVE ME YOUR APARTMENT NUMBER OR NAME ALL SHE YD ME IS THAT SHE'S GOING TO THE 6TH FLOOR BUT I SENT THE MAINTENANCE WORKER WITH HER I SAID MONIQUE WHAT WAS HIS NAME AND SHE STATED I DON'T KNOW RED FLAG

I THEN STATED WHY DIDN'T NOBODY IDENTIFY THEMSELVES WHEN I ASKED WHO IS IT THREE TIMES SHE SAID I DON'T KNOW

I THEN SAID THAT'S NO ADDING UP TO ME MAKE THAT MAKE SINCE I SAID CAN I SEE THE FOOTAGE OF WHO CAME UP STAIRS MONIQUE REPLIED YOU HAVE YO SPEAK TO THE SECURITY SUPERVISOR BRAIN

I SAID CAN YOU CALL BRAIN SO I CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAMERA 🎥 FOOTAGE MONIQUE SAID OK ILL CALL YOU BACK WITH AN ANSWER

I THEN SAID OK AND WAITED UNTIL I HAD TO CALL MONIQUE BACK FOR AN ANSWER WHEN SHE ANSWERED MONIQUE STATED. BRAIN SAID HES BUSY AND HE'LL GET BACK TO ME BEFORE HE LEAVES NEVER HEARD BACK FROM MONIQUE ABOUT BRAIN ALLOWING ME TO LOOK AT THE CAMERA 🎥 FOOTAGE

I FELT MY LIFE WAS BEING JEOPARDIZE IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS IM BEING DISRESPECTED LIVING IN THIS BUILDING ON EVERY LEVEL EVERYTIME I REACH OUT TO MANAGEMENT

MARTHA OR LEO THEY CHANGE THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AND I SPOKE TO MARTHA AND HER SECURITY TEAM BEFORE ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS FOR THEM TO CONTACT ME AND LET ME KNOW WHO IS COMING UP TO MY APARTMENT UNAUTHORIZED

AND LOOKING FOR ANSWER'S TODAY ABOUT WHAT TOO PLACE I WAS TOLD WE DON'T REALLY HAVE TO CALL YOU WHEN CERTAIN PEOPLE COME TO THE BUILDING

LIKE FIRE DEPT PUBLIC SERVANTS AND IT'S ONLY A CURTACEY WHEN VISITORS COMING TO SEE YOU AND THE CONVERSATION WE HAD A MONTH OR TWO AGO MARTHA AGREED TO MAKE IT A PRIORITY BECAUSE OF WHAT I DISCLOSED TO HER ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE

AND BECAUSE MARTHA AND LEO PROTECT THE DISRESPECT THAT'S BEEN HANDED TO ME FROM MAINTENANCE WORKERS AND THE BURGLARYS THAT TOOK PLACE BY JUAN

MARTHA HAS WRITING ME APARTMENT VIOLATIONS SAYING IM A THREAT THAT IT'S RETALIATION AT IT'S FINEST AND TODAY REALLY MADE ME KNOW HOW DANGEROUS MARTHA AND HER STAFF IS AND I MUST PROTECT MY WELL BEING WHILE STILL LIVING HERE IN THIS PLACE MARTHA'S AIM IS FOR ME TO MOVE OUT OF THE COME PLEX WITH THE HELP OF MAINTENANCE WORKERS SECURITY GUARDS...

I would like to address somethings that are totally unacceptable with this residential property. First and foremost this property is very beautiful with manicured landscaping. State of the art amenities which are pretty awesome.. I heard about this property through some friends that were looking for a new place to call home. I researched and saw the listing on housing connect and was excited to share this property with my siblings we all looked at the pictures and was pleasantly surprised by what we saw. Unfortunately it’s in a very underdeveloped area with a housing project right across the street. The area not as safe as we hoped for but had a shuttle bus that would transport tenants to public transportation. We showed my mother and she stated she would be interested in applying for an apt. So she applied and got accepted. Great news right !! So we thought, when she went to see the apt the apartment didn’t have all the bells and whistles that were shown on the website. So we convinced her that maybe that was just a temporary issue and since the building is still not finished she should just wait it out . I was sure as work was completed in the building as well as the grounds her apartment would be finished as well. Let’s just say my mom is 75 years old and pretty sharp. I was horrified to hear from her and extremely disappointed that she was told from a staff member that because she didn’t meet the income requirements she was considered a basic tenant so her apartment was a basic apartment so that’s why she didn’t have the stainless steel appliances or the glass backsplash. Totally unacceptable to add more insult to injury she was told she couldn’t use the amenities because it was a 500$ membership fee and if she couldn’t afford to pay that she was out of luck ... so she got accepted but because she lives on a fixed income she can’t enjoy the amenities the building has to offer . Shes already labeled as an outcast and discriminated because of her income and as an elderly person no special allowances are made. Totally unacceptable. My siblings and I went to visit and the icing on this cake is we parked our cars in the parking garage The parking attendant Charged us 50$ in cash each because the building doesn’t take debt cards. This is just ridiculous so unfair. False advertisement at its best, discrimination at its finest. Very disappointing!! Whatever happened to treating elderly with the respect they deserve or tenants have rights too. She doesn’t live there for free.. so the moral of this scenario is be honest with your listings be specific of policies and criteria. Train your staff to be mindful of people feelings and don’t discriminate against people because of income race or color. Senior citizens deserve better and they deserve everything the building...
