This station opened few years back extending 7 train’s last stop from Times Square to Hudson Yards. The is huge, the vast space can be seen once you walk up from platform on second floor. Native NY/NJ residents can instantly identify its a newer station since walls are still clean and most signs are still working.
The station is very deep. We had to take multiple escalators to get out of the station. There was some maintenance work going on, few escalators were closed. The outside surrounding of the station is nice. There are multiple food trucks next to the station. And of course this is the closest station to popular tourist destinations of Hudson Yards like Edge, Vessel...
Read moreThere is something important everyone should know about this station; it is that there is an insanely steep escalator. Going up and down felt like a slow roller coaster and I was waiting for my death. Not a place for those who fear heights, but I like the design of the subway station. It is by no means busy and at full capacity like Times Square, but there are many people. I feel as if there should be more trains running through this station as it is near a train station dock and a massive terminal like this is not very well suited for just one 7 train. Overall, it is pleasant and you get used to the steep escalator after a few rides...
Read moreBuilt for a future skyscraper community around 34th Street & 11th Avenue, this station is a modern addition to the MTA Subway system. The huge main entrance is located on a dead end, with an elevator behind it. (The whole station is ADA compliant) There's also restrooms on the upper mezzanine, and on the lower mezzanine there's tons of space and displays on the walls. The platform level is also VERY wide, as for the anticipation of future crowds. The whole station is well lit as well. (Only reason for the 4 stars is the reported water leakage around the station...but it's expected for a station built so close...
