My wife, pup, and I lived @ 5pointz for 27 months, and we couldn't say enough positive things about our experience. We lived in the south tower on a 30+ floor w/ in-unit washer/dryer. We are both 30+ years of age and work in healthcare.
The Unit: Even after 27 months of use, we ran into no major issues. Walls were thick enough that we never struggled w/ noise/smells. Appliances all worked great w/out ever needing maintenance (washer/ dryer/ dishwasher/ sink/ microwave). Windows did block out enough noise to where it wasn't an issue but we did live high up.
The Staff/Maintenance: This might have been the best perk. Everyone that works in the building were very kind and very quick to respond. Even if they could not fix the issue w/in the day, they were always great w/ open communication in addressing when and how the issue would be resolved. We had an issue w/ our key fob during the initial stages of our move and although the issue took several different attempts across several days (we've all been there w/ our tech), there was always someone in communication w/ us and to help us back in if we ran into any issues. Things were quickly escalated to the next person and next person who could help.
Amenities: The pet services there are great! Between grooming, day care, and walks, we sincerely couldn't have asked for more. The staff were very professional and knowledgable. The gym had all of the equipment you could ask for alongside good maintenance. Also not too crowded which is big for me. Parking is also accessible from the basement if you have a car (~$400/month - standard for the area) although this is run through MPG.
Location: This was truly an ideal situation for us in terms of location (Courtsqaure Station) where you literally can access midtown, Brooklyn, queens, SOHO, LES w/out needing to transfer. Trader Joe's across the street, and target 5 minute walk from there (we're simple people lol). Courtsquare diner is also top tier for the vibes and iconic in the city. In terms of convenience, this location is ELITE.
Our professional schedule was/is very demanding in terms of hours and stress so comfort and convenience (w/in our price range) was our top priority in choosing a place to live and call home. 5pointz delivered, and I am so happy and satisfied that my little family called this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpon moving in the bathroom mirror was damaged Already I thought I was part of the mirrors design now upon moving out they are trying to charge me 400 dollars for something that was already damaged. They use cheap paint to paint the walls but than want to charge u for paint chips. The south tower always has issues and the building slants. I would not recommend moving into 5pointz the apartments are like a lil box especially the studios they like walk in closets. If you do move in take a pic of everything⦠see they donāt know I found the pics of the bathroom when I moved in so imma let them charge me than Iām going to sue them .i also kept getting emails from management asking me to stop smoking in my apartment mind u I was staying in Virginia during that time which means anyone can call and say u smoking and they will believe them without even verifying it was you. I def wasnāt resigning my lease and I hope they do charge me for the damage they said I did so once a judge sees the pics the will loose instantly and Iāll have the last laugh. They know the south building is slanted to the right but they wanna charge me 375 for a slanted mirror out of my deposit mind u out of the two years I leased there I only stayed there for about 4 months being that I travel for work a lot so yea I was not resigning no lease for no small studio apartment which is the size of a walk in closet. I can imagine how much money they took from tenants security deposit after knowing they used cheap material to build the building let alone it was rushed and they took many shortcuts do not I repeat do not move into 5pointz itās a waste of money the prices are extremely high if you donāt win the lottery to get in you will be paying almost 3700 for a studio thatās ridiculous I wouldnāt recommend moving in they say no smoking but people smoke all day but they call the person who doesnāt smoke to say donāt smoke lmao everytime they called me or emailed about smoke in my house I was 15hrs away like did you actually go to my floor and smell near my door or did you come up to my apartment to see if the smoke or smell is actually coming from me now they donāt they just assume who they think it is and accuse you of it they are scammers and I wouldnāt live or move in there again even if the rent was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWondering how many of the good reviews for this place are genuine. Not sure how many people would go out of their way to leave a 5 star review saying its the best place to live in LIC. Happy tenants are just living their life. 3 months ago, 5pointz management was approached with some concerns regarding sudden charges for "amenities" ( that include access to literally everything in the building) and other items. The letter was completely ignored. If you are wanting to move here, don't get sold in for the amenities because they cost extra. This does not seem to be common practice in SOME other high rise buildings. The building has been riddled with leak problems for years. Maintenance response is fairly quick, they can at least get credit for that. But the shortcuts during construction are apparent. Part time, on site staff is pretty good. Those who manage all the way up at the top, maybe not so much. Dog friendly building but no place to take the dogs. Window washing never occurs. Some guy also committed suicide by jumping and landed on the terrace some time ago....it was brushed under the rug. The sky lounge that is advertised on the home page has never been open to anyone. Perhaps that changed for amenity members...WHO KNOWS. Initially the building promised kohler faucets, among other higher end brands for appliances. They made shortcuts along the way, and apartments have varying brands. Mostly, they suck. What would be appreciated is a little honesty and care for tenants, It's tough out there, and you would think that with a luxury building, charging high initial rents and then insane rent hikes with lease renewals, maybe a tenant would be allowed to go outside on the terrace for some sunshine. Crazy ask. 2 stars because it could always be worse. Please don't reply to this message @magement....you didn't in the first...
