My hair is growing back after cutting it in January so I have a small afro. I went to another place a few blocks at 8:45 am because I had other stuff and wanted to get this out of the way... I chose this place at 9:20am because it was empty. The older lady started my hair early and was quoted one price of $180.00 (ok,short hair) I told her I wanted the braids a little below my shoulders. I have take several calls, watched several movies and have noticed that 2 people that have come in at least 3 hours after me have finished with the same hairstyle. 10 hours later my braids are short and not very tight where the knot should be. My hair is now sticking out of the braids and she CUT THE HAIR STICKING OUT! My hair is already short! 2 days later my hair looks as if I have had it braided for 2 months. She left out hair in the back and sides and claimed she didn't want to damage my sides but was able to catch the right side of my hair, which is the same length as my left. I had to ask her to move faster because I had other stuff to do and she wasted my ENTIRE DAY with braids down to my butt, that I didn't ask for. When she was finally done she tried to telly another price. My hair looks like a child did it, not a professional. I will never come here again. I saw another review saying the same thing about the braiding place. I should have waited for the shop around the corner. I have to take these out soon because they look horrible and my hair is coming out of them. Go someplace else or another braider. Avoid this woman in the middle chair. The roaches on the floor did not help I held my bag the...
Read moreIf you’re thinking about it don’t do it! I had a young lady who braided my hair today unfortunately I had nowhere else to go and took my chances with going to this place when I tell you unprofessionalism that is an understatement. I was assigned a young lady who braided my hair she could’ve been in her early 20s possibly still in her teens with glasses. I walked over to her and greeted her, I showed her a picture of the style I wanted. She stated to me she could achieve the look and told me the price. I reiterated the style which was “small knotless waist length”. With an attitude she repeated the price and stated she can do it. I told her I had my own hair and would like to have it ombré, she respond “that’s too much work. Given the fact that I was traveling out, I felt I had no immediate other options and decided to just do it one color. During the process of her braiding my hair she uses a rubber band to hold the loose hair, when she went to go to the other section she pulled on my hair to get the rubber band out. I told her to stop removing the rubber band like that as she was breaking my hair. With an attitude she handed me the rubber band and said for me to put it in. Of course I was furious but remained my composer. In the end the braids didn’t come out how I wanted. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI saw good reviews about the owner Awa of this place. But she seems very overpriced even if you bring your own hair. I booked with the owner but she had two other people I believe her children helping her braid my hair at the same time and when I said I wasn't comfortable with that I was just dismissed with it makes it go faster and most days it gets very busy and you barely see one person braiding. One of the girls who was helping to twist my hair was pulling very tight on my edges I had to hold it down while she twisted even after telling her stop pulling hard. If I booked with you I don't want any one else braiding my hair. I wasn't satisfied with the end result. It seems like new clients are passed on too other people or not a priority. I will be going back to my regular braider I've been going to for years. I just wanted to try someone else who was closer because my regular braider is working from her home in the Bronx since covid and isn't coming back to Brooklyn until later this year. I could have gotten the same style for $120 mid back length instead of the $160 I had to pay for shoulder length Marley twists which was suppose to be mid back not...
