I tried to pick up a package today that was sent to this UPS Access Point and marked as available to pick up yesterday. When I arrived the owner/man working the counter was immediately rude to me - telling me repeatedly to “read the sign” instead of answering my questions. There are dozens of signs pasted across his shop, many with conflicting information. Two police officers arrived after me, which he had called to report a different unhappy customer apparently “harassing him” by writing bad reviews. He was so rude to me that the officers commented on it, saying they weren’t surprised about the bad reviews when he talks to customers the way he spoke to me.
After he spent about 10 minutes talking to the police officers (who had arrived after me), he finally took my information about the package I was trying to pick up. He started talking to them again, very obviously not looking for my package. A UPS delivery man then showed up to collect packages that hadn’t been picked up - I noticed my package on this pile even though I was told I had 7 days to collect it. I asked the UPS man if I could grab it and he said that the Access Point person would have to scan it - I then proceeded to get a lecture from the owner about how I hadn’t picked the package up in time so I couldn’t have it. When I tried to say that I had an email showing that it was only available for pickup yesterday, he repeatedly interrupted me. The UPS delivery man had to intervene to allow him to let me speak.
He took the package to the back and then came back to lecture me. By now I have been here for almost 30 minutes, and this man is trying to tell me, an adult picking up my package that I need to not interrupt - a man demanding respect when he has shown and earned none. He then asked for more proof of my address even though I had already given it - at this point I felt more than extremely uncomfortable and left. I know I’ll be able to get my money back from the company that sent me my package but I have reported this business to UPS since the proprietor seems to have more interest in lectures and demanding your personal information than giving your package.
Do not expect to pick up your package if it is sent here - it will be held hostage by a business owner that tries to get the police to arrest his unhappy customers rather than improve...

Read moreDON'T LET YOUR PACKAGE GO HERE. I shipped a gift from the west coast to New York and it was sent here with a "sorry we missed you slip" left on the recipients door from UPS. When she went to pick it up he refused to give it to her because "her name didn't match but the address did". I was on speaker phone to him and requested he double check the tracking number since I had the receipt from the UPS I shipped from showing both her correct name, address, and tracking number. He refused to double check the package and acted extremely immature and rude. I called my own UPS to explain the situation and was told he legally is required to hand over the package if the recipient has the "sorry we missed you" slip. I explained to them that he didn't seem to care about what is legal or not and is holding the package from her. My own UPS location graciously rerouted the package back to her place with a door code so it wouldn't be missed and wouldn't be sent back to this location. Crazy enough her correct name, address, and tracking number were on the package when it arrived at her place. This just tells me he was either lying or too stubborn to double check the package. He proceeded to say she thinks she's privileged because the color of her skin when she explains the experience she had in person. I won't even begin to explain how ridiculous and unrelated that is to this entire situation, but I encourage you to read the rest of the reviews and learn about how horrible this...
