I used to love coming here. Tashauna or tati is the best. I recently took my daughter's to get a repelish silk press with oil and trim. Let's just say it didn't work out at all. So the amount was 190. I was told because my daughter hair was thicker (4C), and it took longer she had to charge me extra. The amount came up to 230. Why wasn't this explained to me before starting her hair. The owner was there the whole time my daughter was getting her hair done!! I recently took my daughter hair out of braids for 2 months. I made sure it was washed and oiled. I knew she needed a trim because she didn't have one in 5 months. I don't understand why I had to pay extra. The stylist seemed to be taking her time on purpose, or she did not just know what to do to my baby head. The girl who did my daughter hair was new. She didn't know how to cut to me. Each time she cut my daughter's hair, it just got worse. When you go to these " natural " hair salons, make sure they can actually do your type of hair. My daughter Silk Press only lasts 24 hours. Her scalp was super dry, and her hair was puffed. I called the salon, and the owner told me that she could repress my daughter hair. Now, if it didn't work the 1st time. How was she going to fix it with just heat. My baby made sure she slept with the ac on for days to keep her little puff cute. She didn't like the cut she said she looked like dora, the explorer. I told her it would be ok the 5 inches would grow back. I should've just booked for tati she does my daughter hair well and cut nice. 😣 Every time I pass that shop, it's always empty. Idk if it's because of the price or they just don't have that outlet for flowing customers. Now I have to hear my daughter complain about her hair being too shot because (the lady didn't know how to cut her hair ) until it grows back. She hates her natural hair out because of the length. Having a preteen with a hair crisis is stressful, especially trying to get her to wear her natural hair with the peer pressure of wanting longer and straight hair because everyone else has it. She always loved wearing her natural hair, but since 5 inches is gone, she's been struggling to find a cute style that will fit her claw clips, etc. Being a hairstylist, you don't play with people heads. If you don't know what you're doing, say that. Be honest. Don't just take someone's money and do w.e. smfh. I hope my daughter was a lesson for her. To the owner, even though you play fake with a smile, change your ways. I could feel your vibe without you trying to be nice. Take good and bad criticism. Treat people fair. The customers are the ones who's making you money to keep that empty shop open. Do your research. Barley, no workers or customers in there. I don't...
Read moreI did a silk press with 4 tracks with Shannon and the experience was not good. Perhaps she was in a bad mood that day, but she was not nice to me at all and begrudgingly answered my questions with sighs and an attitude no matter how nice i tried. I was a bit confused about the tracks. I explained that i have been natural for many years and new to silk press and extensions, so when i saw the “silk press with 4 tracks” option, i assumed the tracks were included and didnt come with any. She said that someone from the salon was supposed to have emailed and told me that i should bring my own tracks, and i showed her the emails i was sent which showed that no one told me of such. She didnt offer apologies or try to accomodate me based on this blunder. My hair was too thin and i really wanted to add tracks. I explained this to Shannon and she didnt seem to care to help and seemed to rush me. I asked if its ok to run out and buy hair somewhere, and asked if she knew somewhere in the neighborhood where i can go buy some, but she wasnt helpful at all. The receptionist however was so helpful and sweet which i appreciated. Shannon just seemed frustrated and like i was bothering her the whole time and it was saddening because i was so excited to make this place my home salon. I also asked for a trim and she kept saying “so you want a cut”? I asked what the difference was as i assumed that a cut would cut a significant amount of hair while a trim would dust ur ends. With little clarification, i ended up telling her to just go ahead with the cut because i felt like i was a bother at this point. Ended up not liking the look, and was too scared to even ask for a posibility of a fuller volume/more tracks (with extra pay ofcourse) or even ask about the silkpress aftercare . I just wanted to get out of there. Interestingly, she suddenly started being so nice and chatty with me towards the end of the service- perhaps for a tip? I Still tipped her 20% which was not deserved, but i believe in tipping regardless. I went back 2 weeks later to remove the tracks and chose Onica this time. Onica was so pleasant, and not only answered my questions about extensions/silkpresses, but also offered other hair advise to me. The receptionist and Onica were true gems. Shannon on the other hand ought to learn how to communicate pleasantly with her clients and...
Read moreMy experience with this salon was quite an unpleasant one. My first appointment with this salon was for a sew-in with hair provided by the salon. They dropped the ball with communication and then tried to have me run around last minute looking for bundles. My second appointment was for a condition, silk press and trim. I could not make the appointment so I called and canceled my appointment 48 hours in advance. My account was charged. This week I called back to inquire about the charge and reschedule my appointment. I was told that the manager would call me back in five minutes to discuss the charge. About an hour later I called back asking for the manager. The individual on the phone started using evasive tactics when I asked for the manager and did not identify herself but said she could help me. When I asked about the charge she began speaking in such an unprofessional and rude manner. Honestly it was so off putting. She stated that the charge was a non-refundable deposit and that it was on their website when booking. Not only is this policy not on their website (which I have screenshots and screen recordings of) it is not in any emails I have ever received from this business. I also stated to the young lady that this wasn’t my first visit and no such policy was ever stated or any deposits ever charged to my account. She kept repeating herself and I was over the whole situation. After getting off the phone with this rude and unprofessional woman she calls back to tell me I can use the deposit if I reschedule my appointment. I told her I wouldn’t be scheduling any thing ever again with this salon because of the way I was spoken to. Who ever the owner is please get your staff better training in customer service because this was deplorable. Losing a customer over a $40 deposit when services are hundreds of...
