If you’re going to shop there, definitely don’t bring your kid with you. We were letting our daughter pick out a stuffed animal from a bin on the floor. We were on either side of her watching her, and she was hugging the stuffed animals one by one then putting them down, and I was trying to gauge which one she spent the most time with. I then noticed one of the women hovering very close to us glaring at my child and pretending to organize things. My husband picked up our child to get her away from the woman and the woman said “good” and then stepped in and started rearranging the bin of stuffed animals our daughter had been going through, as if our daughter had ruined something. The woman behind the counter was also very uncomfortable to interact with in the brief interactions we had. We left as soon as we could and bought nothing. My husband summed it up well after we left: “Why own a kids’ store if you...
Read moreThis is a beautiful store with such lovely children’s items. It’s unfortunate that for a children’s store the staff is so unwelcoming to children. I walked in 9 months pregnant with my husband and 4 year old and instead of being congratulated and welcome we were given the most strange looks from the salesperson.

There were so many items I wanted to buy but I left empty handed after only a few moments. Disappointing, considering how cute the product was. Thankfully we live in nyc and there are a lot of options juts like this- some right around the corner - but friendlier!
I even joked at the end that it’s much easier to shop without kids, but unfortunately I do not have...

I am a proud uncle of thirteen nieces and nephews, all of whom receive gifts of clothes and toys throughout the year. But it seems like if you’re not a white woman shopping in these neighborhood shops you are treated with suspicion and contempt.
I have no issue putting on a mask, but if your tone from the outset is going to be this negative you can count on never getting a penny from me. And that’s really your loss, I’m single and have plenty of extra money to spend on my family.
Shame on this business. From the other reviews it seems like this attitude is a feature...
