Banana Republic — Local services in New York

Beautiful store, but I had a pair of light washed Rapid Movement jeans start falling apart after only 3 months! They were tearing in random places, like the wash had weakened the denim to an excessive degree. I bought the darker wash the same day and they are still fine.

Not only did they not do an equal exchange for the same pants in the darker wash, but they only credited me the current (very low) price because I no longer had a receipt and had paid cash. Who keeps a receipt for 3 month old jeans?

Lesson learned. If I buy anything there, it will be on a card. And they just starting to be able to email your receipt. In any case, I will think twice before buying there again.

Disappointed by their customer service. Tried to pickup an item that my wife ordered online. I brought her ID and email confirmation for pickup. The lady who might be a manager at pickup area told me my wife had to come to pick it up since my name was not on the email confirmation. I was disappointed since she would not be available for several till thanks giving but I understood. so I asked about cancellation. She said my wife has to come to pick up and return her item. I did not understand their policy but she was very firm and express the same thing to me. Then later my wife found out it would be canceled if she would not pick it up. She was rude, she might have a bad day...

I had never complained about this store until today. When I went to check out, the cashier ( a young black man) didn't greet me, he was very rude when I told him I was using the " friends and family discount" I had received via e-mail. He told me I should had say something before the transaction, and he said I couldn't use it because it was an online code. Meantime the bar code was there in the email to use in stores. His attitude totally killed my shopping experienced.
