I'll preface this by saying this is a very nice place. They have a lot to offer here and are of high quality. If you're on even a modest budget, I might reconsider. The reason I'm giving this place the rating I am is because of the mixed service provided by their employees. The blonde woman was absolutely incredible. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. She is the only reason I made any purchases during my visit, if she wasn't there I would have walked out. The man who works there with the black, slicked back hair was incredibly unprofessional, elitist, and arrogant. Looking down on and talking down to people who he assumes aren't high spenders, talking poorly about people's employers and the people who work for them, making jabs at someone for not wanting to spend a mortgage payment in their store, all are good ways to lose business. The only reason I didn't set my stuff down and walk away was because of the great service provided by the kind woman working there. The man with the black, slick backed hair needs an attitude adjustment, quick. I understand this is a higher class facility, but when you're the only place in the city that offers certain things, you need to keep customers wanting to come back. Also, their tinned tobacco is double the cost of what it...
Read moreI remember going to this location back in 2010 to 2011 I was always at the other Barclay Rex location on Lexington Ave before they closed so I was more familiar with midtown than the lower Manhattan scene, but to visit this location more than a decade later brought back memories of the community as well. . The hospitality here was above and beyond friendly the two young lady's who work at this location were professional, courteous and attentive to detail with regards to what you're looking to smoke or buy whether pipes, pipe tobacco or cigars. Great environment if you wish to have a quiet moment to smoke after work , before work or just passing through on a visit to New York. I highly suggest this location as a go to in the financial district , lots of rich history in the surrounding...
Read moreThis weekend was my first time ever in NYC with my Fiance. We always have to check out the cigar lounges in every city we travel to. On Saturday we stopped in and got to talk to Ray. Down to earth and just a tremendous person. I ended up getting the new Charter Oak and a local blend cigar then came back with my Fiance and got a few more. Another house blend that Ray helped and a third house blend but with pipe tobacco fillers. Wow. Cant recommend this place enough if you love cigars! We talked briefly about moving here just because this trip was one for the books. If we do, you guys definitely need to still have those house blends...
