I went to Cipriani Wall Street for a Restaurant Week lunch and expected it to be busy. In actuality, we were one of two tables seated. The host directed each person to the closed off terrace where we sat among the columns. Unfortunately, it's winter so overlooking Wall Street was not an option. The terrace was as insulated as possible but the area was still majorly drafty. The staff catered to us and was quite attentive. However, when it came to the RW menu options, we were all pretty disappointed. For example, one of the starters was Carrot Soup and the only dessert on the menu was Carrot Cake. I began with a chopped Endive, Fava Bean & Parmesan Cheese salad. It was a good size and quite tasty. For my entree, I ordered the Spinach & Ricotta Cannelloni. The portion size was decent and it was quite creamy. I asked for a side of marinara sauce to add to it and I found their house sauce to be lacking in nuance; it tasted like just tomatoes. I tasted my friend's carrot soup starter which was at once sweet and savory and pretty good. I then got to try a Chicken dish which came cut up in small pieces and served in a tomato based sauce with a side of rice. I found this to be a strange presentation for the setting but it tasted ok. Another friend had the Lemon Sole and she thought it was excellent. When it came time for dessert, our served surprised and impressed me because he came over and offered us, in addition to the RW Carrot Cake on the menu, a wide array of cakes. We each chose a different one and shared. As I've mentioned before, sharing food is one of my favorite things! This really turned the meal around and left everyone feeling so much better about the...

Most recently, my mother had her company's holiday party here and I got to enjoy Cipriani's offerings as her +1. The entire space is huge and we got a bit lost trying to find our way back to our seat. Staff could've been a bit more helpful then but I do recognize they had their hands full taking care of the 100's of other people...
Read moreI finally had lunch with a coworker at this landmark, and while we were glad we visited, the experience was underwhelming. It took several tries to get someone to show us to our table, but the staff were generally helpful. While the meat and fish entrees were quite good (particularly the braised beef ribs), the sides were bland and the bread was stale (the butter was delicious). Dessert was ok, but nothing special. I might return to enjoy a cocktail on the balcony in summer, but there's no compelling reason...
