While my stylist was nice and talkative, she was definitely NOT able to deliver the haircut I wanted. I showed her a video of the cut I wanted (see attached screenshot) and the cut she gave me (next photo) was far from what I asked for. Rosa cut my face framing layers wayyy too short and not in the style I wanted, despite her making comments at the start of my appointment about other stylists who cut their clients hair way too short and promised to keep my length, but then she ended up doing the same exact thing to me! I definitely do not think this is worth a $150 haircut. It’s going to take me months to grow my hair out to the length I want. From the beginning, I HAD the length available to achieve the cut I wanted, which Rosa was unable to do. And when I pointed this out to her, she started BSing me talking about how my face shape doesn’t allow for the original cut I wanted… I’m sorry what?? That is the dumbest thing I’ve heard, and for a $150 haircut I don’t expect you to give me the cut YOU want based on my face shape. She didn’t even tell me that in the beginning. Only when she knew she F’d up. On top of that, they don’t even perform the Brazilian Blowout treatment correctly! After they applied the product, they blow dried my hair straight and then flat ironed it. After that, they were supposed to rinse out the product immediately and then apply a bonding spray and finish styling which they completely skipped. I called the official Brazilian Blowout company to confirm this and they sent me a PDF of all the steps in their Brazilian Blowout process (please see attached.) After I explained to them what Gabriel Shimunov’s hair salon did instead, she was shocked that they would let me leave the salon in the middle of my treatment (literally) without finishing it and advised me to rinse immediately in the shower myself rather than leave the product in my hair for 3 days like the salon suggested I do, which is dangerous to myself, babies or pets when I have literal formaldehyde unrinsed in my hair for 3 days straight! That comment came straight from the Brazilian Blowout company themselves. This also could’ve resulted in the BB treatment not lasting as long and leaving my hair with a lot of buildup, heaviness and greasiness. For the price you pay at this salon, I really expected better quality service which I did not receive in EITHER of the treatments I got. Look...
Read moreAlright!!! I never leave reviews. I had my first Brazilian blowout here on Sunday. It is clean and bright. While waiting for my appointment, many people were getting their hair blowout and they looked amazing. When it was my turn for the Brazilian, Rakan worked on my hair. He washed me, blowdried applied the BB, blow dried then flat ironed me in very small passes about 18 times. This gives a sleeker look, but I was informed it’s customizable based on how many passes they do. My hair was PIN STRAIGHT and so soft. I never felt that before, so I was excited. He told me I could wash when I get home, and honestly I was nervous because my hair is frizzy, wavy, tangled, and unmanageable. I use with heat tools everyday which was causing breakage. After my first wash, I was so scared to see if it worked.I quickly blow dried it and was in shock, it was smooth, frizz free, and almost completely pin straight. It took about three minutes start to finish to finish my hair. I couldn’t stop touching it and I’m so happy I could cry writing the review. I feel so beautiful because my hair is finally manageable and feels so good. Rakan was absolutely wonderful. He walked me through step by step and was quick. The entire process took about an hour. I cannot wait to come back for my next one! They will have a...
Read moreI did not have a good experience. I was completely blindsided.
After doing my research and seeing the positive reviews, I decided to give this salon a try. I even called ahead to confirm the pricing and was told that the Brazilian Blowout would be $300 due to a special promotion. I was taken care of by a stylist named Carolina, who was friendly and did a great job on my hair.
Here’s the problem: when it came time to pay, I was suddenly told my total was $627, more than double the price I was quoted. At no point during my service was I informed that the price would increase.
Their reasoning? “You have a lot of hair.” That may be true, but had I been told beforehand that there would be an extra charge, I could have made an informed decision. You don’t spring a surprise price tag at checkout. That’s just bad business.
I left feeling taken advantage of and disappointed. Shame on you for the lack of transparency. I won’t be coming back and I hope others think twice before trusting the quoted price here.
** Disclaimer: I left this same exact review on Yelp. I also hadn't written review in Lord knows how long but I want to warn others so they're not blindsided...
