Summary: WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DAYCARE AT ALL!!!!
I'm so glad that I'm finally over with this daycare. My child attended this daycare from Apr. 2022 ~ Jul. 2023 for 16 months. My observation/experience with this school is longer and newer than any of the previous reviews and solely based on the "daycare" experience NOT the 3K experience. (Also, I see a recent review below but I believe that person is a current teacher, not a parent!!!)
Pros: "Some" teachers are good.
Cons: Lack of communication & miscommunication:
• I'VE NEVER RECEIVED ANY DAILY REPORT FOR 16 MONTHS about my child's activities, meals, development, or social interactions. This lack of communication leaves me uninformed about my child's daily experiences and progress, making it challenging for me to stay involved in their development at daycare. • Furthermore, when I attempt to communicate with the director or teachers via text, they often misinterpret my messages or provide answers that are completely unrelated or irrelevant. Such consistent miscommunication can be frustrating and discouraging, leading me to avoid engaging in conversations with them altogether, which is not a healthy situation.
Director's lack of professionalism and operational skills:
• This daycare was approved to be run as 3K by DOE starting Sep. 2022. My 2 year old child (who was not eligible for 3K yet) had been going there since April 2022 but only 2 weeks before the new semester for 3K started in Sep. 2022, the director reached out to us saying that "We accepted too many 3K students. Since your child is not in the 3K program, you may/may not be able to join. We will let you know if we can enroll your child depending on how many 3K students actually show up." She was basically saying that - if you are useful, I will keep your child. If not, wait to hear from me to reject. This approach is not in line with proper childcare practices and can be significantly distressing for parents. • Since they were accepted as a 3K school, they added numerous extra days off following the DOE schedule to daycare babies who are not part of DOE program and paying monthly tuition of $$$$. Also, they often reduce the daily hours with no good reasons. For the summer this year in 2023 as an example, they notified parents 2 weeks before that they would operate 1.5 hours less. • Right before the last month at this daycare, we realized that we've been paying more than we had to for over 6 months. It's because they charge less for 3 YO vs. 2YO and my child turned 3 this year. When we raised the issue via text, the director quickly FORGED a paper with increased tuition. What she forgot to perfectly forge was the "revised date" which was even earlier date than my child started going there. Since we had only 1 month left there, we let it slide. The director is completely dishonest and unprofessional. • I hardly saw the director in person. I saw her less than 5 time within 16 months. And it seems that the director prioritizes financial considerations, as evidenced by the example above and cashing my monthly check on the day it is received, rather than adhering to a standard schedule. This behavior suggests a strong focus on money rather than the well-being of the children
Basement Location • It is worth noting that the daycare operates in a basement location. I strongly suggest to tour first before sending babies here.
With all of these craziness, why did I send my baby for 16 months? It's only because this was the only fulltime (8-6pm) daycare with availability in my neighborhood for working parents. I was on the waitlist for a couple of other good daycares in FH but never heard back since they were in high demand. Fortunately, I'm not sending my baby here for his 3K. I didn't even list...
Read moreBright kids of America is truly and amazing preschool for little kids. My son has attended since he was 2 ¹/² years old when he had little difficulty of speech. All the teachers were able to help my son to talk in a month. I was very impressed how professional they are and were able to work with my child. I couldn't believe my eyes that my son was changing from his shy personality to an active child. Everyday he was coming home playing new games with me and with new vocabulary. I was so happy to learned that they opened 3k program because I didn't want my son to leave the Bright kids of America. I asked if I can register my son for 3k and Miss. Wei with her beautiful smile said sure I will accept you right now, we love to have your son here. This day care not only make the kids happy but the parents as well. I am very thankful to the staff. I dont want to mention names because they are all amazing. My son didn't wanna come home because he was very comfortable with his teachers and the classroom. They have two beautiful classroom, very clean and organized. They even have a closet for strollers. Not to mention that they have a playground for kids to play in a good weather. Also, they sent me every other day pictures of my son playing and learning in the classroom with other kids. Teachers are very patient with kids and they know what each kid needs help with, not like other daycares or preschools. They give love to the kids and dont hurt their emotions. Next year I will bring my daughter here because this preschool is amazing and very professional to teach kids in the right way. Highly...
Read moreWe had sent our son to Bright Kids of America 5 years ago and had had great experience with the teachers and the programs. Teachers and the director there had been very attentive and had been providing updates of our son's learning progress and development. They had recommended us and provided us channels to get our son evaulated for his speech as they had felt our son might have needed help. It had definitely helped as it had helped speed up our son's application for speech services when he had gotten into pre-k. Because of our great experience with the daycare, we had decided to send our daughter there when she turned 2. As we already knew the teachers and director there, we felt very comfortable and confident. Again, the teachers were very attentive, loving and caring. They gave us updates on how our daughter did and what she learnt in daycare. Our daughter stayed there for 3k and the teachers were trying their best to make sure the kids had great experience and had every opportunity to learn and explore. The teachers spent lots of time preparing performance for the holiday at year end and graduation. Every kid got chance to sing and dance and perform in front of their parents. We definitely recommend Bright...
