Everyone is seriously impacted by the current economy and I am so there with everyone. Decided to pay Buffalo Exchange a visit for buy and trade. The first two visits were ok; a lot of rejects and few yes. Made a few bucks which merely covered my transportation cost as I don't live in the area ( a big plus if you do). The 3rd time was the charm and not because I made money back from trading - no, not at all. It was my encounter with Nicky (if not Nico is his actual name). He is what every retail and professional establishment needs - courteous, focused, actually smiles and knowledgeable. 3rd time was the charm so for the first two visits to people who took care of me - I mean no harm, just being honest of who were the absolute best. He told me he works at the Brooklyn location and he gave me inside tips of what is accepted which is anything bold, sporty, bright and shiny. So, I pass my knowledge off to the newbies now and for the future. Do take loads if you can because you don't really get much for each item. Anna - the Manager - was also another nice person who had that human touch lacking painfully in others who works there and that is a dying attribute in this heavy tech and social media era. My 4 āļøs are for both of them each š. All in all, they are worth the time and load (since quite many gets rejected) if you live nearby and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTrying to sell is a joke at the location on 11th street. A Disappointing Experience I recently attempted to sell some gently used clothes at the Buffalo Exchange on 11th street in Manhattan , and I must say, the experience was frustrating and disheartening. The staff were incredibly condescending, making me feel like I was wasting their time. From the moment I walked in, their attitudes screamed judgment rather than professionalism.
Despite bringing in clean, trendy, and high-quality items, they barely glanced at my pieces before dismissing most of them with vague excuses like ānot what weāre looking forā or ādoesnāt fit our current inventory.ā The entire process felt like I was being judged not just on my clothes but on myself. The elitist vibe was palpable, which is ironic given that this is supposed to be a thrift storeānot some high-end boutique.
I expected a fair and respectful interaction but left feeling insulted and unappreciated. I wouldnāt recommend this place to anyone looking to sell or donate their clothes. There are plenty of other stores with better customer service and less pretentious attitudes. Save yourself the hassle and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTHE WORST selling experience I ever had.
I donāt normally leave bad reviews, but this place is SO DISAPPOINTING. They only accept in-store visit currently, so I made a reservation online and traveled all the way here with a huge bag of more than 20+ clean clothes & bags, some of them are bought from top designers. The girl working there told me I can simply drop off my stuff and leave, without providing any further instructions. Then when I tried to follow up days later, they told me they didnāt take anything and had already donated all my stuff. I was very upset because they sent unclear messages and made the decision without even letting me know. They promised to double check and get back to me the other day, but I was only told the deal is the deal and they could do nothing about that.
I was very upset about the INCONVENIENT selling process, their UNCLEAR message, and TERRIBLE customer services. I would rather donate my stuff directly to charity rather than visit Buffalo Exchange again. You guys should definitely train your staff better. Please do yourself a favor donāt come here to...
