Canal Street is very controversial. People from all over the world had visited Canal Street for window shopping and Restaurants. It is not recommended to hire a Taxi on Canal Street for a variety of reasons: First, there's a high volume of vehicles commuting from and into the Manhattan Bridge, which is at the heart of Canal Street and the Bowery. Your Taxi will be expected to move at walking distance to any Train Stations, which will take you to your destination faster. There are a variety of Train Stations located on the WEST of CANAL STREET, and NORTH on the BOWERY at GRAND STREET for your convince. Second, you must be very aware of your surroundings. This Street is packed with tourists, therefore, there's a lot of attractions towards your personal appearance and your expensive electronics. Keep your personal information safe and secure and, PLEASE DON'T BUY "FAKE MERCHANDISE." BE AWARE THAT IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL AND WHEN THOSE SELLERS GET DETAINED BY THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, THOSE BUYERS CAN ALSO BE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE...(meaning you.) Third, people move and walk very fast in Canal Street. Cars travel sometimes faster than speed limits, and unfortunately that's what happened with this picture captured in a split of a second as a vehicle was trying to beat the traffic light and landed in the side of a patrol car. 😁😲 Fortunately, no one was...

Our adventure started out catching the train to Canal St from Midtown. It was much easier than we anticipated and that's really where the fun starts.

As soon as we walked out of the station, we were approached by "sellers" asking if we were interested in buying a handbag, watch, etc. I'm not going to review that here, but depending on how you view this type of thing, it is possible to find some pretty amazing items.

The sunday we were there, also happened to be the Chinese New Year's parade. Oh, we were soooo excited!! The streets were on overflow mode, but the sights and sounds of ethnic celebration, community partners, and the public-at-large made for a super memorable experience.

We found some great deals in Little Italy and grabbed dim sum in Chinatown. Lots of places are "cash", but there is a Citibank ATM in Walgreens as well as a Bank of America near by.

Visiting Canal St was truly one of the most affordable and entertaining experiences...

⚠️♿ Still unsure of accessible options as of 2022.02.16 for J train platform and uptown Q train platform, anyone with information please make publicly available ⚠️ ¡Highlights! •Generally clean •excellent signage •easy to navigate •Help kiosks, metro card machines, and digital signage all seemed to be in good working order •Is well lit thanks MTA! Want to applaud the MTA workers keep us moving and shining bright. They replaced all the light bulbs over the past couple of years. Outstanding! Thank you MTA! The canal Street station is enormous and I was a little intimidated by its bigness but once there I was able to easily navigate my way through to the good signage and was able to set off on the next leg...

Stopped in Chinatown for a quick bit when we went to go see Little Italy, luckily there was a festival going on, but even without that, I still feel like they both would have been good places to visit. It was pouring rain when we visited, but it wasn't stopping us from exploring. We came up from the subway on Canal and just started walking from there. You could tell the place for sure was primarily Chinese, which is just crazy to me for some reason but I loved it. I love having mixed communities but is cool to have a place like this right in the middle of a place like New York.
