Exceptional Service that Enhances the Brand
I recently visited Carmina’s 53rd and Madison location the day before a wedding to complete my look with the right pair of shoes. Though I already owned a pair of Carmina’s black unlined horsebit loafers (purchased online), this was my first time stepping into one of their physical stores.
The shop itself is beautifully designed but compact, and when I arrived, it was buzzing with customers. Despite being the only employee working that afternoon, Leila somehow managed to assist multiple customers while still greeting me, making eye contact, and reassuring me that she’d be with me shortly. It was a small gesture, but it made a big impact.
Once the store calmed down a bit, Leila gave me her full attention. She listened to what I was looking for and even brought out a pair that wasn’t on display, based on her intuition about my style preferences. I ended up going with a beautiful pair of brown suede tassel loafers, exactly the right blend of classic and stylish for the occasion. That level of awareness and detail was beyond impressive. She didn’t just provide customer service, she delivered an experience.
Carmina shoes are known for their craftsmanship and quality, and they certainly speak for themselves. But it’s people like Leila who elevate a great brand into something unforgettable. As a business owner myself in the customer service industry, I know how rare and valuable that kind of attentiveness is. Leila is a true asset to the...
Read moreCarminas are the best shoes I've ever worn. Getting interested in classic menswear, I started to map out the different shoemakers available in NYC. I first went to the Allen Edmonds store nearby, but somehow the shoes seemed off to me and the customer service was uninterested in serving me. Luckily, the next store was Carmina. I settled for an unlined suede loafer, took my time with the fitting, and with the help of the staff found the right size (which is a tight fit for unlined loafers, as the leather will significantly stretch with wear).
The price was almost double to the AE shoes, but the overall quality and improved aesthetic is worth it. Since then I have visited other companies, like Meermin, with the hope of finding nice shoes a little cheaper, but the visits have been very short -- they don't come even close to Carminas.
If you are looking for reasonably prized, high quality shoes that you can wear with joy for many years to come, I suggest you invest in a pair...
Read moreI had a bad costumer experience with Carmina Shoe Maker, their staff are rude, unengaged and unknowledgeable. For a $700+ boot I expected more feedback and information about the product, at least a formal conversation, and after I received the boot I requested the matching belt which was not available at the moment, I left my information for them to order it, the quickly jot it down on paper and said they will do it blah blah blah trying to get rid of me to the next costumer, and it’s been a year since. No call, no belt and I’m not bothering to follow up. I’ved matched it with an Allen Edmonds belt already for the moment. I will say their products are amazing, well made beautiful shoes, surpassing many more expensive brands, mines where made and brought from Spain, their company unlike their boutique staff did email me and engaged well about my product, but the staff was total contrast...
