Last night, my friend and I stumbled upon Santis, a charming restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, just as they were preparing to close. Despite the late hour, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth and made us feel right at home—a rare and much-appreciated touch.
The atmosphere at Santis is a perfect mix of elegance and comfort, with dim lighting, tasteful decor, and a relaxing vibe that makes you want to linger. Even so late in the evening, everything felt polished and inviting.
We began our meal with the butternut squash soup, which was pure comfort in a bowl. The velvety texture and perfectly balanced sweetness of the squash, made it the ideal way to start our meal. It was so good that we found ourselves scraping the bowl to savor every last drop.
For our main courses, I opted for the tagliatelle while my friend chose the steak. The tagliatelle was an absolute standout—perfectly al dente pasta with a rich, creamy sauce that tasted like it had been simmering all day. The flavors were bold yet refined, and the portion was just right. The steak, on the other hand, was equally impressive: juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection with a charred crust that gave way to a beautifully pink center. Paired with a side of roasted vegetables, it was a hearty and satisfying dish.
To end the evening, we shared a chocolate dessert that was pure decadence. It featured layers of rich, dark chocolate with a silky ganache that melted in your mouth. It was the perfect balance of indulgence and sophistication—a true delight.
Even though we visited as they were closing, the staff remained attentive and gracious, ensuring we never felt rushed. It’s clear that the team at Santis takes great pride in providing a stellar dining experience, no matter the time. Kudos to Dillian.
Santis is a Midtown gem that excels in every way—from its welcoming service to its impeccable dishes. Whether you’re looking for a late-night bite or a full dining experience, this is a place you’ll want to return to again and again....
Read moreMy wife and I went to Santi to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was a fantastic meal and experience. All of the food and beverages were delicious and beautifully presented. I am an Executive Chef in the Minneapolis area and did a bit of research before picking Santi for our anniversary dinner and I'm so glad I did. We flat out had a great time talking with the server about a bunch of different stuff related to the food and libations. The execution on the food was flawless. The brioche on the torchon was incredible. It was more like a laminated dough than a typical brioche you might encounter. It was like a crispy croissant. Nice airy. The sourdough at the start of the meal was fantastic but the focaccia was a real stand out. Maybe I'm a nerd but it was clearly a very high hydration like a taglio style and the outside was incredibly crispy which takes some skill to pull off. We had the prawn crudo which was fantastic, the foie gras torchon which was fantastic, the mushroom and black truffle pasta - fantastic, the monkfish which is one of my favorites and the ribeye. The potato tortino for the ribeye was phenomenal and understated on the menu. The menu had no mention of truffle with the potato and yet we were pleasantly surprised when we discovered it did. The desserts and the after dinner cappuccino we all great. I really liked the Sole E Luna. We also had an affogato with a special Amaro that the server let us sample. You can tell the staff there cares deeply about their job. Fantastic service, fantastic food and drinks and a fantastic vibe. Probably the best meal I've ever...

The hosts greet you at the door with the most hospitable treatment where the lively and beautiful bar sits just to your left for a drink if you arrive early or just pop in to grab cocktails with friends.
We were sat at a table in the back area of what I believe to be the main floor. And the ambiance was on point. From the plush furniture, to the mood lighting and playlist, this spot is perfect for a date night.
We probably over-ordered but everything was just that good. From the cocktails, to the apps to the complementary amuse- bouche and little bites served with the check, the place had fantastic service.
We started with the delicious tuna crudo with urchin and the scallop followed a complimentary arancini with truffle. The insalate and the beef tartare specifically were FANTASTIC. Foodgasm party in my mouth!
Ordered the tagliatelle and garganelli which in hindsight was indulgent but it had been years since my friend and I saw each other, she was visiting in town from LA and we were celebrating.
Next was the amazing steak dish cooked medium rare to perfection. Our server recommended the perfect red to pair it with. Finished omplimentary dessert nibbles with bite sized macaroons and...
