
âHigh End Product Quality and DurabilityâŚ.. not a priority for Chanel Companyâ
If you are not a recognizable famous celebrity, a couture client and/or millionaire.... Chanel's customer appreciation to you as a consumer of their products is not included on the price tag you are paying.
My mother and I have been fans of the history of the house of Chanel and allured by it, we have invested our money in a few products such as but not limited to (handbags, wallet, pearl earrings, silk scarf, satin black Camellia brooch) and many beauty products (Chanel #5, Crystal, Coco Chanel, lipsticks, eye serumâŚetc).
Our shopping points through out the years as clients of this firm have been in Florida and New York... when in USA.
Living outside of USA in a country where no Chanel boutiques can be found, it has limited ourselves âbig timeâ in bringing back products purchased that have shown some sort of manufacturing defect.
Such is the case with the âBlack Satin Camellia Broochâ (the iconic flower of the house).
So it happens that my mother wore the brooch pinned or her jacket just in two occasions after the day of the purchase (one during a ceremony of a bank inauguration and the other one for my grandmotherâs funeral) and to our surprise without noticing two of the satin petals have fallen off from the brooch.
We could not believe that a â$150 Chanel satin broochâ is falling apart by just being pinned on my motherâs jacket!!!!!!!!!!
After this we ended putting it away on its original box and wrapping until we got the chance to inquire at a Chanel boutique about what it could be done to save the brooch.
Currently we have the luck of living in NYC, took the brooch to the 5th Avenue Boutique to see if there was any back up on the warranty of the brooch or if they could restore it; to my surprise I got the shocking response by the sales agent of the boutique as follows:
1.- To fix it myself (me ????? a person that doesnât have the talent nor the skills of a Chanel artisan to attempt fixing it)⌠by buying the fabric similar to the Camellia at a local NYC fabric store to do so!!!!
2.- To buy a totally new existing style in the store?????
This response proofs me that Chanel's products are disposable and easily replaced ( far from the distinguished and well known common practice of any high end accessory/apparel house that honors their product history and values the customers investment in the firm).
My last resource to voice my dissatisfaction on their response and to possibly get a positive resolution to my disappointing experience was to contact the CEO of Chanel (Mr. Alain Werheimer) via his e-mail and to explain him in a detailed manner my current issue as well as the mediocre follow up customers are being provided with, upon claiming a defected product by Chanel customer sales agents.
The end result of all my efforts to validate my rights and respect that âanyâ costumer deserves was "no answer by Mr. Alain Wertheimer and my e-mail account has been block to continue sending any future contacts to him.
Actions speak louder than words!

   Read moreI bought a Chanel boy bag and only used it a handful of times. I noticed some white speckles or white areas that were not painted on the sides of the front and back quilts. I believe it is a defect or quality issue. I brought it into the Chanel store on Madison Ave in Manhattan New York where I originally purchased it. I asked if they can check what it was and let me know. They said theyâll have to send it in to âassess and adviseâ so I agreed and signed the paper. I asked them to please call me before doing any work on the bag, but they did not call me and repaired/repainted the bag. They sent it back to me without my authenticity card and receipt that I had left in the inner pocket of the bag. I asked for a receipt of what was done to the bag but no reply. I am very upset with how the bag turned out and still see some white areas when the bag is supposed to be hot pink. Why did they paint the bag if there was nothing wrong with the color? Itâs because they know it is their issue. I do not want this as it has been recolored or painted. They wonât agree it is their mistake and would not give me credit back for another boy bag or exchange. Itâs causing me emotional distress just thinking of what happened to the bag and of course losing my money.
Corporate of course denies it is their issue/mistake and nothing can be done. Their lack of communication between their employees is the result of my bag being repaired. No explanation of why they did what was done. They lost my authenticity card and now theyâre trying to cover up saying that they only got my bag which is not true. I left my authenticity card, receipt, and dust bag with my bag. I asked what does it say that I have left and she said just the bag. That already tells me they are not thorough and it makes me very upset. Their quality issue is now my mistake. I was very specific about not doing any work to my bag and they just went ahead and repaired it without my permission. Corporate said because I signed off the paper âassess and adviseâ, that I have already agreed to have my bag repaired, and they can't do anything about it. I'm so upset of their decision.
