Fat Witch Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Yum! If I'm in the mood for brownies, I always know where to go, and Fat Witch has never ceased to disappoint. Tucked away right in Chelsea Market is where you'll find this sweet little bakery. Now I wouldn't consider myself a person that has a sweet tooth, but I can't deny a desert or pastry if it's simply awesome. With the brownies here, I can somehow eat 3-4 in one sitting, creating a nice little shield of fat on my stomach in the process. The brownies here aren't cheap by any means though, so if you're expecting Fresh Direct or Food Emporium prices, then try somewhere else.

With their brownies, they come in two sizes: regular, and bite sized. I've always gone with the bite sized brownies because really people, portion control. As much as I would love to devour a regular sized brownie, it's probably not too good for my health. Plus, with these bite sized buddies, you can get a variety of flavors. On the downside, if you get the Witch Babies, they only come in 3 flavors: regular, blonde, walnut, as opposed to the normal fat witches.

My personal favorite has to either be the original or the java witch, but no matter what you decide to choose, they're all amazing. These brownies are nice and soft, and when you bite into them, they do not crumble and dissolve into bits and pieces. One word of advice though, if you do buy these brownies, they have to be eaten in a week. Otherwise, they can be tossed in the fridge for up to 3 weeks. If you can have self-control and not eat all these yourself, Fat Witch brownies also make a nice gift for people outside of NYC! They come in a nice little tin, with all the brownies your loved ones can eat.

I ordered a tin of assorted brownies from Fat Witch Bakery for my sister’s birthday, who is a self-proclaimed brownie connoisseur, and it was perfect!

The ordering process was a piece of cake. I placed my order online, and it was processed the same day. The brownies were shipped the next day and arrived via USPS Priority Mail within the same week. Super impressive!

The packaging was simply adorable! Fat Witch Bakery really knows how to charm with their branding. It's everywhere – from the shipping box to the tin, and even on each individually wrapped brownie. And the gift card? Just the cherry on top!

Each brownie was individually wrapped and labeled with its flavor, making it an exciting treasure hunt for the tastebuds. My sister couldn't stop raving about how fresh and fudgy each brownie was. Plus, the option to freeze them or pop them in the fridge for later was a big hit.

And the fun doesn't stop there. The tin, proudly boasting 'FAT WITCH' on the outside, is set to make a comeback as a quirky gift box for one of her friends.

A great snack-ish dessert as you’re exiting the Chelsea Market.

When we planned to visit the Chelsea Market, my girlfriend was recommended to check out this brownie shop and it didn’t disappoint. A lot of the shops in Chelsea Market tend to be quite pricey, but thankfully Fat Witch were on the lower side when it came to prices around $5-6 for a moderate sized brownie.

We grabbed the Blonde Witch and a regular chocolate brownie. The blonde witch was a perfect subtle flavouring that wasn’t too over-bearingly sweet which my girlfriend really liked. The chocolate was your classic chocolate brownie, not much to write home about. One thing I didn’t like, was that I was expecting…more. I really wanted this to be a gobsmackingly good brownie that would be incredibly soft but rather it was somewhat dry. Might just be the time of day we purchased ours.
