Columbus Pre-School — Local services in New York

Our children have attended Columbus Pre-School since 2019 and we cannot say enough wonderful things about the school. We have been so impressed by all of the teachers, from the 2s program all the way to the Pre-K program. They are warm, nurturing, communicative, and accessible to parents. They are creative and truly follow the interests of the children. The teachers have introduced my children to early literacy, numbers, and letters, but also art, theatre, science, movement, gardening. My children come home every day with new stories, knowledge, friends, and are excited about learning and school. The facility is an amazing space for an NYC school environment. There is a huge gym space, multiple private outdoor spaces, a library, the classrooms are bright and airy.

Moreover, the parent and school community is kind, community minded, collaborative and respectful. We have come to truly count on the families we've met as part of our village...

We have been part of the Columbus Pre-School community since 2019. Our children have thrived not only while they were at CPS but also post pre-school. I truly believe that CPS set my children up for success in their school journey by instilling a love of learning, teaching them to navigate their feelings, and providing a warm supportive environment.

CPS strikes a wonderful balance between play based learning while exposing the children to literacy, numbers, and letters. The school also does a fantastic job exposing children to art and I truly believe that my children's love of art stemmed from CPS.

We are new to Columbus Pre-School and so this time last year we were going through the whole application process. What stood out to us about Columbus from the start was three things; the early childhood curriculum that used the best tools from disciplines like Reggio and Montessori to provide an enriching multidimensional social and emotional experience, the teachers whose loved for education is infectious, and the space with two dedicated outdoor play spaces and an indoor fully equipped gym that is truly unique for the city. We are a couple months in now and couldn’t be more happy with our choice.
