Relatively long wait times combined with rip-off pricing. Medical staff (willingly?) failed to inform my contact lense prescription expires next month and that I can't get new ones without a valid prescription. I had to pay USD 159 for a complete eye exam and when I came back three months later was asked to do a complete eye exam again incl. the contact lense addition (USD 284). If I would have known the first time that my lense prescription was about to expire, I would have done it all in one session. Feels like unprofessional profit making on absolute minimal basic services. Is this how regular customers should be treated?
Update: Offered to pay up to USD 200 just for the lense screening, understanding that they need to to a different screening, but unfortunately this was out of their "office policy". I was offered to talk with a doctor, but only the office manager responded, blaming that the new hire gave me wrong information. Blaming your own employees in front of the customer basically tells you everything you need to know.
Final Update: Went to Studio Optix just two blocks away, they accepted my up-to-date glasses prescription and offered me just the contact-lense exam for USD 175 on the next day. Guess their office policy is slightly more innovative.
Answer to Response from Owner: I perfectly understand the legal situation. I am getting tired of explaining to you that there would be no problem, if you would have just informed me on time about all consequences the first time. Doing an eye exam (spectacles) again after 8 weeks, just to get the contact lense screening is just a rip-off and could have been avoided. How much are your services worth, if you can't use your own medical results (from an existing customer) 3 months after you did a thorough eye...
Read moreHORRENDOUS customer service. Cynthia was incredibly rude on the phone. I have spent over $1200 at this office, and finally received a contacts prescription, after much struggle with their scheduling. I ordered my contacts from a third party, and there was a delay in shipping. So I called cosmopolitan to see if they could give me some trials. Cynthia was SO RUDE, acting like I was trying to steal free contacts. I asked to speak to the manager, Samuel, and she put me on hold for 20 minutes, obviously hoping that I would hang up. She eventually picked back up and said that Samuel was unavailable. So I never spoke with the manager. A private office like this carries a premium price. A contacts exam here is over $320 (much higher than a chain place). So you expect a little extra effort when it comes to things like customer service and ordering trial pairs. I would never come here again. Also, the office and bathroom are disgustingly dirty (pictures attached), which doesn’t instill confidence in a doctor’s office. The bathroom sink was not working last time I was there. So did nobody wash their hands that...
Read moreMy experience with Lens Crafter was actually very positive. It was my first time going there, and from beginning to end all of the workers were extremely attentive to me. Once I finished filling the paperwork with my basic information, within 5 minutes or so the eye doctor called me in for the actual eye exam. During the eye exam I was actually surprised at how quick, but efficient it was. The doctor did all the necessary tests, and asked all the necessary questions, as well as even show me the X-rays of my eyes which I found fun and interesting. After the eye exam itself, I was sent over to pick out what kind of frames I wanted, and the woman that helped me out was extremely helpful from beginning to end. She saw how indecisive I was about choosing one specific pair so she had me try on a ton of them and after getting a feel for my taste a bit she picked out about 3-4 of them that she'd have a feeling I liked, which surely enough, I ended up picking one that she suggested. Overall my first experience was extremely pleasant and I look forward to continuing my eye doctor experiences with...
