This morning AT 6:27AM EST, I entered the Duane Reade location #14272 at 4 Columbus Circle to purchase something to drink and a snack. Upon entering the store, I noticed there were no cashiers present in the location, and I didn't see anyone on the first/main floor. I went to the refrigerator and got two Turkey Hill beverages and a box of Entenmann's cookies. Two other individuals then entered the store and picked up items. As I waited at the register and the other individuals waited behind me, I yelled out "hello" at least five different times in the span of nearly ten minutes and no cashier was to be found.
Finally I found a can of Lysol next to one of the abandoned registers and banged it on the counter three times and said "hello" again and received no response. Finally, I took a few steps backs and noticed way down in the back there was a guy stocking shelves. I yelled "hey" and he turned around and walked to the front of the store. At that same moment,
All of this was irritating because I was rushing to get to work and perhaps eat a bite before I started. However, with no visible Duane Reade employees around to ring me up at the register in a timely fashion; this was made impossible. At that same moment, a Duane Reade employee came up the escalator as well, and then another one appeared. I found it strange that with three employees in the store, NO ONE was at the register or the front of the store to assist customers as they came in? Think about how many people could have walked past the store and assumed it was closed because no one seemed to be around? Also, think about how many items could have possibly been stolen in the time that the employees were away from the front of the store. When the cashier came to the register, I asked him "did you hear me at all when I was saying 'hello'?" He simply ignored my question and began ringing up the items. I then asked again...no response. Finally I asked, "did you heard me banging the Lysol can on the counter?" No reply or eye contact. I find that to be extremely unprofessional. He then asked, "do you have a rewards card?" and said nothing more. If this is the type of employees that you have running your store, I would rather go to CVS. Perhaps they should take a class in loss prevention and customer interfacing, because clearly, they lack and experience in either. Also, the cashier was a dark skinned gentleman with...
Read moreFirst time popping into this Walgreens to do some shopping! The floor staff, including the security, were very helpful and kind! I needed a little help and an associate assisted me in getting what I needed! I was able to pick up a few necessities, as well as some great NYX makeup I've been eyeing and candy at a great price for the upcoming Valentine's Day to surprise the family! I also saw an astounding selection of cards for any occasion on the lower level once you go down the escalator. I also like that the store is 24 hours! (Not the pharmacy) My only wish is with their prepared foods, I was hoping for more vegetarian options (other than the usual fruit cup or yogurt parfait). However, everything looked fresh, which is always good. Also, did not see a lot of sugarless products for other folks in my family. Generally, was quite pleased with my shopping experience here, the cashiers also friendly and assisting me in getting my things together! Will likely pop in again...
Read moreWas in there on 02/13/2019 at 12:30pm to purchase ORBIT GUM, I guess either they don't carry the product or was just out of it. So I stood there for a while thinking if I wanted to purchase something, I decided to purchase a CHERRY COCA COLA but decided against it when I realised I was being watch by an employee who at the time was consuming a sandwich on the sales floor. I am sure that you guys have some type of break for employees. At first I was in the back by the candy section she was watching me. Then when I came to the line she came up front, so yeah I was definitely being watched. I work in that area, I usually don't go there because I live in Jersey and usually shop over there. WOULDN'T BE GOING TO THAT ONE ANYMORE....
