Four Seasons Bodywork — Local services in New York

Just weird. They weren't welcoming at all. It's like you have to do their business for them. I was like um one hour right? She's like yes. I said um $49 right? She said yeah. How about you explain the different options to customers when they walk in? I had more customer care and kindness then them. Midway into my massage my masseuse I guess sensed the tension in my body and said "Would you RELAX!?!?!" as if she was annoyed. 🫤 I told her "I'm trying haha, I had a stressful life." and laughed it off. Then a few minutes later I was thinking um OK I go to a place to get a massage because I'm tense and need relaxation in my body/muscles ... isn't that the whole point of getting a massage? 🤔 Am I in the twilight zone here? Because WOW. I was gonna tip more but I tipped half. Now that I think of it I should have took it back. She didn't even say thank you. Felt like she wanted me to leave. No friendly conversation or a "thank you for coming." Very unprofessional. Just an angry unpleasant lady. I been looking for a massage place to go weekly to RELAX. Well now they just lost a customer for life. That's hundreds or even thousands of bucks going to someone else. Good job! 😁 Plus I have friends that get regular massages all the time. Bizarre experience. I went for a 1-hour massage and see how customers give the bodywork 5 stars, but the staff apparently doesn't understand that the purpose is to relax people. Changing into a robe was interrupted by my masseuse asking every two seconds, "Are you ready?" "Are you ready?" "Are you ready?" before she came into the room and stood there, as if to ensure that I was actually getting ready, and had to be asked repeatedly to leave for a couple more minutes. Her bodywork was good, only to be interrupted by shouting between her and another staff member, and going out / coming back multiple times. On one of them, a different masseuse came in to replace her, having no idea what area of my body had been or was being worked on, until I finally asked what was going on. The original masseuse came in and said she'd been booked by another client, despite a room full of other employees standing around with nothing to do. They both left, and there were extended conversations between staff members and another client for another ten minutes as I lay there by myself, contemplating leaving.
