I stumbled across Sebastian Grey, Mid-Summer of 2018 during a casual lunch break stroll. I was immediately drawn to the yellow painting that was displayed on the storefront. With excitement, I was eager to obtain information for my 2019 wedding as the staff provided me with the necessary information to prepare. I provided several detailed photographs of the suit that I wanted to create and was assured that they had the experienced staff to custom tailor that EXACT look, and I was subsequently given a quote for the materials/production costs and told that I would need to pay a deposit at the time of my fitting to begin production. I was very excited that they assured me they could assist me in creating my dream suit, considering I’m a woman. I was told to return 3 months prior to my wedding date in order to begin the process.
Well, fast forward to July 2019, I scheduled my initial appointment to get measured for my suit and review the materials/costs. During my measurement appointment Saad seemed to possess the capabilities but he was not accurate, therefore Shawn further assisted me. Towards the end of my appointment, Saad explained the pricing details, and I was ASTONISHED to hear that the material/production costs were nearly $1000 MORE than initially quoted AND I was asked to PAY IN FULL UP FRONT, rather than a deposit as initially told!!
VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was then told that after careful review of the details (which were already provided during my initial conversation), their master tailor could NOT produce the ”exact look” due to intricate details that SG master tailor was NOT experienced in. Due to having only 3 months until my wedding, I was willing to accept the altered suit with the assumption of a price reduction. I left that day, being told that they would communicate revised pricing to me via email after speaking with the master tailor. Needless to say, after two failed email attempts and a lackadaisical response followed by an aimless email reply that did not address ANY of my concerns from either of my previous emails to move forward, I was still left in the dark! Today, was supposed to be my first fitting. No one sent a follow-up email or call, and have STILL not communicated new pricing details with me. Luckily, I had alternative options as a back-up, just in case. Given my strict timeline, they left me no option but to withdraw early and utilize suit option #2 instead of my “ideal “suit and use an alternate tailor.
Unfortunately, my experience would lead me to advocate AGAINST purchasing from Sebastian Grey! You SUCK!! I feel like I was purposely given empty promises just to secure my business, AND knowing I was told to come in 3 months prior to my wedding left me with little options to find a last-minute tailor. Clever ploy! BUT COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNPROFESSIONAL! I was fortunate enough to have a colleagues friend who worked alongside, Russel Simmons and other celebrities, save the day. As, he has a knack for precision, customer service and concern for delivering an exceptional PERSONAL tailored experience. Thank you, SG for giving me no other choice than to find...

I'll give the positive aspect first. I had a custom shirt made here and the fit and quality seem quite good. The pricing was comparable to what I've paid elsewhere.
The service in this place is a disaster. If you need lots of custom shirts made budget 6-8 months from start to finish. For what is supposed to be a high end custom service, they seem to have forgotten what that should mean.
It starts with needing to make an appointment - online only - and seeing that you need to look out a few weeks to find a time that is available. For shirts, they insist on only making one to make sure the fit is right. Sounds reasonable to me. So you wait 3-5 weeks for that shirt to come in and then get an e-mail that it is ready. The e-mail tells you to make another appointment. Since they won't let you make it until the shirt is ready, that means another 2-3 weeks until you can make it work. When you arrive, you will be told you didn't need an appointment after all. Since it's only a shirt, you should take it home and wear it and have it laundered a few times before making any decisions on alterations. Sounds good, but that meant the 2-3 weeks you waited for an appointment were not necessary.
So you try the shirt for a while and notice a few tweaks that you'd like to incorporate into your batch of shirts. Make the appointment (another 2-3 weeks to get an open slot that works) and when you get there you will be told that since the shirt isn't perfect, they will not let you buy the entire batch of shirts you need. Only one at a time until it is perfect. And that is non-negotiable.
In utter disgust, I left the shop for the second time. This morning I called my original tailor and asked if I could swing by today. He said no problem come any time today. No appointment. No 2-3 week wait. And I bet I will have the shirts in my possession before I could even get another appointment at...
Read moreIn search of a suit for my wedding and pre-wedding events, I was referred to SG by a business associate. The shop itself was lovely and so was the team. I enjoyed the process and they seemed to have good quality product, so I purchased a suit on my first visit. Given my tight timeline I was asked to pay a rush fee to which I agreed. Unfortunately, they couldn't process the fee in-store nor did the paypal link they emailed me work. Somewhere in-between leaving the store and a week later, the sales rep I was working with had quit and she did not process my suit. Upon finally getting in touch with someone at SG (she had stopped responding to my emails) they informed me that due to the internal error by which the sales rep did not process my order, I would need to pay an additional rush fee (2X) to get it done. They wanted to charge me extra because of their mistake! They left me no option but to cancel my order 5 weeks before my wedding. Unfortunately, my experience would lead me to advocate against...
