HZ Computer — Local services in New York

My only complaint is that there arent enough stars to give this wonerful business. HZ Computer is EVERYTHING that supporting a small business should be, great service, fair and honest, really cares about the customer and is literally a one stop shop for almost anything you need

Chances are if you are reading this review, you are probably in a state of panic and have done something to disable your laptop or desktop. If you go to Beat Buy or Staples, they will charge you $50, just to sneeze on your computer, and then you need to buy overpriced parts and additional labor. The smallest fix for the simplest thing will cost you $150 there, and more likely, you will be better off just buying a new computer

This is where Bill (not Phil) really excels. I explained my issue over the phone, and he was able to immediately give me options on what might be wrong, and what solutions he would take (from fixing it to just telling me to buy a new computer)..Bill has all the diagnostic tools available to see what the issue is, and will tell you real time what the time and cost involved are (another reviewer even said he was kind of enough to give her a loaner computer - try that at Best Buy!!!)

True to his word, Bill fixed my issue, charged me the actual price that he said he would charge me when we spoke on the phone, gave me a warranty for his service and even fixed a few little things that I wasnt aware of.

I noticed that during my time there, several of the local people came in with various issues, seeing if Bill could fix it on the spot, and I never saw him charge any of them,

In sum, if you need your computer fixed, and dont want to get ripped off, and want to support a great small business, THIS IS THE PLACE. And its literally around the corner from the F train, so super convenient as well

Short story: shoddy and incomplete service, long wait times, rude service.

Long story: brought in an older laptop for a simple screen replacement. Not a big deal. Guy was short and rude, but I don't really care. Took two weeks to get the job done. Got the computer back and the keyboard didn't work. Went back to the guy, and he tried to make it my fault. I just think the cable needs to be reattached, but he says he needs to order a part. Six. Months. Later. After calling constantly for the last two months I go in and it's been sitting disassembled in a corner. They finally get it back together and I pick it up the next day. Go to use it and it won't boot. Try and get my money back at this point and he refuses.

Computers glitchy and doesn't connect to all networks now. Reassembly looks like it was done by a drunk child. go literally anywhere else, because they don't care about doing...

Just wanted to write a review for HZ Computer. I spoke with the owner by phone a day just before the NY lockdown went into effect. My desktop tower system fan failed. The owner was very patient and even after several back-and-forth phone calls. He asked me for information of my computer which I did not have on hand.

I canceled the appointment to bring him my desktop tower because the cops ordered his business to shut down and I wasn't sure when I would get it back.

In the end, I used Youtube videos and figured out which part to order from Amazon. I was able to clean the system myself and uninstall and replace the system fan.

The owner was very helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping solve the issue than to make a sale. I highly...
