There is no one like James Corbett! He is the most talented, creative color artist who will make you look and feel gorgeous every time. He is also an amazingly kind, compassionate, and caring person. I have known James for years now, seeing him every three weeks. He consistently does a fabulous job on my very tricky hair.

I went to several famous colorists in NYC before James and nobody was able to do a good job on my difficult hair. When I came to James for the first time with my hair looking pretty terrible, at that point I didn't have faith that I'll ever find a colorist who would be able to make my hair look beautiful. All the super stars with excellent reviews that I went to failed to do so. James listened to me very carefully, took all my concerns seriously, immediately put me at ease with his warm personality, and did a stunning job on my hair. With his unparalleled professionalism, incredible artistic taste and the creative intuition of a genius  - he is a unique treasure! I couldn't be happier and more grateful to him. What he does as an artist is simply magical. He is also a person of the highest caliber.

All protocols for covid are impeccable and you will feel safe, relaxed, and very well taken care of. The James Corbett salon is the very best in New York City (and that is saying a lot!). In my many years in the city, I have been to many hairstylists and colorists, but the team here is really the most skilled, kind, patient, and expert that I’ve ever encountered. They’re all true artists: Tina is an exceptional colorist of the highest caliber. I started with dark brown and wanted to go blonde, and although I was anxious to get there quickly, Tina suggested doing it in a way that would look beautiful and also protect my hair. I was thrilled with what she did from the very first appointment and have been going back consistently for about 10 years now. Sho has cut my hair and I cannot say enough good things about him. His intense concentration while at the same time making me feel comfortable and in the very best hands, is a true art form. I feel like I’m visiting friends whenever I get my hair done. And I have to mention the sensitive soul ambassadors: Charlie, Poldy, and Otto, who make my visits a heavenly and completely joyful experience.

I started coming to James Corbett Studio just before the pandemic hit and I returned shortly hair salons were allowed to operate. There are a trio of people that have made me smile and my hair look so much better and they are Tina, Sho and Antonello. Tina my lovely and wonderful colorist has taken my damaged and frizzed out hair to make it once again look normal. I don't wear it twisted in a pony tail, and I don't look like a Tabby cat that has just gotten out of the rain. Sho is a hair cutter perfectionist. My cuts last long and look great and he carefully considers what looks best for my hair type and face ( even with a face mask). Donatello washes and blow drys my hair in such a way that I wish that I had somewhere fabulous to go to. All and all this place is a true gem with such wonderful people who seem to love their jobs and are fantastic at what they do. Please visit if you can, you will be so happy...
