MUJI Chelsea — Local services in New York

I generally look for 3 things in the places I frequent:

Service - The people here are magical. They are always so friendly!

Offering - The offering here is an OCD person's dream come true. You like dots, no problem. You like grids, also, no problem. Small, medium, large, whatever the size, they have it. This place has the Goldilocks of product offerings. B4, B5, B6 - yes, thankyouverymuch. None of the pen combinations work for you? You want to make your own. Again, no problem. Pencil, Blue, and Green — done and done…. Prefer something more traditional, like Red, Blue, Black again, no problem. They have everything you might need for your organizational enjoyment.

Atmosphere - So clean. So organized. So lovely. And nicely smelling I might add.

Of all the Muji locations, I think this one suits me best. The store is usually never crowded and the service is scarce. I like that when I'm shopping at Muji because I tend to browse more slowly while I'm there. I'm not sure if it's the quirky Japanese writing or the random details found on such basics like a lip on the spoon rest for your ladle, but it requires me to take multiple trips around the store and through its home and clothing sections. I will admit this isn't the cheapest store for home goods or clothes, but it's fun and their sales are pretty good. I recently purchased a sweater here that was regularly $95 but with since it was a sale item, it was marked down to $34. Not too shabby! It's certainly my go-to spot for last minute Christmas gifts since they don't have locations outside of...

5/25/‘22 Although I’ve appreciated the clever design and inviting ambience available at Muji over the years the experience I had today trying to return two items has given me pause. As a Village resident of many years and an experienced shopper I don’t consider the absence of a flimsy plastic wrapper on an unused , stainless steel drain board reason to deny a return.I had spent@$175. at Muji that day on mutiple items, as evidenced by my receipt.
