A friend of mine recommended this place to me. Went in with no expectations, just to look around. Place not too busy, pieces clearly carefully curated, overall interior environment is slow paced, conversation intriguing. Of course, the dialog with the staff there came naturally and organically. I was never pushed, and I was able to look at and try to fathom everything the store had laid out at my own pace (from the 恋人へ on the shelf to the various smaller items they put on the Christmas tree), with my own background and understanding. I bought something very small, but there was the tote bag, postcards, and even the wrapping paper has their logo imprinted/stamped. I don't know, I loved it so far, but is this what they also have in mind going forward? Tell a different story/perspective (let the designers innovate and explore) or focus more on the way the story is told (layout, feel/vibe of the physical store...) Any loss of focus along the way? Anyway, it’s calm. I will follow and come back.

Komune is a small store located close to the Williamsburg Bridge, specializing in bringing over luxury designers with unique pieces to the American market. The pieces range from tops to accessories, with varying prices. The prices do run a bit high because of the luxury aspect, but they are a great piece to buy for people as a nice gift for an anniversary or birthday. The staff are also exceptional, they walked us through the entire process of trying outfits out, discussing the designers behind each of the brands, and also apologizing for any price discrepancies.

I can’t stress enough the effort and love that goes into bringing a space like this into existence, LES would never be the same

Amazing store with incredible customer service. The unique clothing and thoughtfully designed space make it feel almost like walking through a museum. Though relatively new, it already feels like a staple in the community, constantly hosting free events and fostering a culture that goes beyond just the products they sell. I stop by all the time, even when I don’t plan to buy anything, because visiting is always a highlight of walking Orchard Street. The shop feels fresh and different every time I come in, and I’m excited to make more purchases here...
