Not the best experience. I walked in and was not greeted. My daughter realized their were additional items upstairs. As I was going up stairs to assist her...the associate stopped me because I had a book bag on and quickly told me I needed to check my bag. That there was a sign letting me know. My daughter immediately came back down and told me she was completed. She later explained that there were two females up stairs with oversized bags upstairs. I asked for a card and instead of placing it in my hand, the associate placed it on the counter. It was a weird experience and I guess selective on who is allowed to have big bags on them. I will not recommend.

I'm interested to hear the response from the owner; as it seems like he is rude in that department when I read reviews.

Edited to respond to owners response: Oddly he brings up race! I did not see the sign until you told me that large bags were not allowed up stairs as I was heading up the stairs(3 steps in)! I actually was going to check it in. Remember I said oh, my wallet is in there and you said you just wanted the big bag and it will be behind the counter. Oh, how quickly you forgot that I was going to check it in AFTER your informed me of the rule. I decided against going up because of the stairs and I had no interest in anything you had. I stood in front of you the whole time by the door once you made me aware of your policy!

You never spoke to my family until I was heading upstairs. If that was such a BIG policy, that would be one of the first things you mentioned, along with % off throughout the store, etc. You know...CUSTOMER SERVICE! Instead you were NOT friendly. Calling my 16 year old(not saying its not possible) a liar is so cute. Yet, she was not aware of what took place downstairs. She provided me with those details after I told her WHY I didn't not go upstairs. Please work on your customer service. I am sure the negative ones are not just one offs. I would give zero stars if I could. Very unfriendly staff. I’m sad that I wasn’t able to enjoy the store which is probably very cute.

*Edit: Upon seeing the insulting and highly unprofessional response to my review below, I felt I should elaborate on my experience!

When I opened the door to La Boutique, I was abruptly greeted not with a “hello how are you” or a similar phrase. I was immediately scolded for carrying a covered iced coffee with a straw and was met with an inappropriately heated demand that I set it on the counter. I had not even set foot in the store yet! I was so shocked by his tone that I awkwardly turned around and left without a word. The man screamed after me “no one wants your drink, just leave it on the counter”, and he laughed while he watched me go! I’ve absolutely never had a worse experience in the first 4 seconds of entering a business.

I’m disappointed that his first response after seeing how he made a customer feel that day would be to insult them. I did not challenge him on the rule, which is common in many stores. I did not yell or create a scene that would disrupt other shoppers (though the place was deserted, shockingly). I just calmly left the situation. Extremely rude personnel. I tried on a poncho I was unsure about and wanted a second look..followed me around with the hanger insisting I take it off so he could hang it up. Um..hello-I was trying it on! Then my dr calls me to schedule an appt while I happen to be in the store, so I put him on speaker to check my calendar, he runs over to me asking me to lower my phone bc this is “a business” mind you there was no one else in the store. When I told him this he said “well you’re disturbing ME” I asked him if he prefer I leave rather than shop in his store and he said “yes, please get out” so I did.
