I ordered take out. I got the fried oysters, I was not a fan as they tasted like pure Wasabi. The amber basil fried rice was decent, but did not hold up well as leftovers the next day. Miso soup was good. Hawaii roll was not good. They called me to tell me they ran out of King crab so I got spicy tuna instead. The sushi was not fresh neither was the fish that was on top. I tried one piece and left it at that. The crispy calamari was very tough. The fried batter did not taste like anything. The dipping sauce was green, tasted like peanuts and was pretty good but not good enough to save the calamari. Sadly, everything but most of the fried rice went in the trash. Me and my partner always sit at the service bar wherever we go and that’s the reason why I’m writing this review. The bartender gave us some of the best service we got in city. Doesn’t linger too long if you want to be left alone but if you want some good conversation or recommendations he’s there for you and can guide you on what to order based on seasonality. Read moreI haven't been to Amber in a while, and I must say I like the new look. It makes it a lot more spacious, with an airy vibe and open spaces. It makes it look more inviting, although I must admit the bamboo that split the space was super cute and I wish it was still there.
