Today I went to Leslie because I needed ALOT of help with my curls in which not many people have and who else better to cut curly hair then someone with beautiful curls which she has. I came in with matted hair so I gave Leslie and her assistant some work to do. I still feel bad. She has a warm and down to earth personality in which she talks to you to get to know you which i admire. She was at awe with my curls after the needed detangling session. She's very knowledgeable and always willing to make your healthy curls last with tips. She layered my hair to give it some shape and to fit my narrow face. She also taught me how to rake and shake, after dry shake, second day hair tip and even told me that i had to use a heavier product on a small section since it was a different curl pattern. After all was done, she asked me how I liked my cut. If I remember I calmly said I liked it. She wasn't sold on it because she didn't see much of a reaction and couldn't gauge. Sincerely, I had reassured her. I've been neglecting my curls, now that I have a guideline on how to care for them correctly I will do right by them. I'm very grateful. I already booked my 3 month trim. She does well not only with curly, but straight hair also. Trust me, girl...

A friend of mine recommended Leslie Ellen to me a few years back and I will never go to anyone else ever again. When I first went to her my hair was fried from over doing the Keratin treatment and excessive blow drying. It was straight on top, curly underneath, brassy and short -- basically a total mess. After years of trying every high end salon in NYC and leaving with the same results, I was convinced that I just had bad hair and dreaded going to the hair salon. Leslie Ellen has changed all that. At my first appointment with her she took the time to really listen to what I wanted and what I didn't like about my hair. She was honest and told me that it might take a couple of haircuts to get me there because of all the damage but she was confident we could get there. And she did it. I've been to see Leslie twice for a haircut so far and will be going back this Friday for my third appointment. I've had a "curly girl" cut before through a DevaCurl salon, but Leslie definitely takes the cake when it comes to experience and overall outcome. My experiences with her have been exciting and unconventional, and my hair turns out AMAZING!!!! I'm biracial and my hair can be a PAIN, but Leslie knows exactly what to do! You can expect her to have you turn your head every which way, and you'll see her cut here and there, and you don't expect it to come together the way it does, but trust me, it's amazing! She really works hard to make sure you get what you want and she's super personable! The best part about Leslie is you can really tell she loves what she does and she wants you to look your best!
