Story time!
I've had a rough go of it with my back issues for over 10 years, and when I fell down a flight of stairs last new year's eve, I really wasn't looking forward to the New Year. I suffered two fractures, and needed time to heal. (Fast forward)
One doctor said I'd need surgery for my spinal issues, so I got a second opinion. The second doctor suggested physical therapy before suggesting injections or something more severe.
I happened to pick MPT off a list of places I could have gone, and I'm really happy that this place worked out with my insurance policy.
First of all, Maya is knowledgable and lively to talk to about my options and my next steps. She's also flexible when I need alterations that may seem annoying to other service providers.
And then Erica and Kevin make it easy to show up and be entertained with conversation to divert attention to the incredibly painful and beneficial process of the Red Cord, massage and exercise processes they go through.
And John is very targeted with the acupuncture - like, I really don't know how he finds Exactly the spots that hurt, and he never misses. His conversations are really fun, too.
It's easy to feel like "just a number" with services in Manhattan, but they do a great job of remembering your names.
It's only been a few weeks and I'm relieved that surgery may not have to happen now! Feeling lucky this all worked out!

Read moreExcellent PT team! Very knowledgeable. Great equipment. Ideal location (for me). I highly recommend this place. After years of suffering from terrible shoulder pain, I took a chance and scheduled my first PT appointment in February. It's now May, and after a lot of work, my shoulder problem is now much more manageable. My amazing therapist, Erica brought my pain down from a solid 9/10 to now closer to a 3/10. I never expected perfection or an instantaneous recovery, but this experience was as close to perfect as PT could be. Erica, who is clearly an expert in this industry, came up with a good plan to identify where specifically the pain was coming from and focused on strengthening and healing these areas. She knew that I had to travel quite a bit so she gave some exercises that I could easily do in a hotel room without needing much, if any, equipment. Also, I have to credit at least some of the pain relief to the acupuncture I received there as well. Most of my acupuncture was done by Jon, who is very adept at finding perfect acupuncture points and is so knowledge about both eastern medicine and standard PT practices. Again, I'd highly recommend Manhattan PT. I promise you'll be...
Read moreIn all honesty, I always believed physical therapy wasn't a real form of rehab after an injury or accident. I had lived with chronic ankle pain from having flat feet and years of soccer. And after going to many physical therapists nothing seemed to help.
Then finally, after getting the Hypocure surgery on both my ankles in December and February my podiatrist prescribed me PT sessions at Manhattan Physical Therapy. From my very first day I knew the work being done at MPT was unlike any place I had been before. The trainers make sure to make real connections with their patients and for once, they explained everything to me so I got to better understand my own anatomy. After treatment for 5 months, my body is stronger and I feel like I actually know the things I need to improve on to help with my pain. Maggie, Joe, John, and Erica are amazing at their jobs and I'd recommend them to anyone who's lived with chronic pain or needs to go through rehab after a recent injury.
Plus all the lovely ladies that work tirelessly behind the desk are super accommodating to my hectic schedule and my perpetual lateness. I...
