Met Foods is a neighborhood staple. You can't go wrong. THE best and biggest fresh garlic in town! All of the individual departments are great and most of the cashiers are very sweet and helpful. I find almost everything I need here. Deli is good - I like my cold cuts sliced medium, not thin - they always do it right. The rolls are great. The Catania Italian bread is worth the trip alone. They always have Wise brand chips - which is a must in my house! Parking on site and fantastic produce (especially the tomatoes). They also deliver - which is great for my elderly Mom. If I had to nit-pick, I would say to add shopping carts to the front of the store (not just the back or behind the registers) because it woud be more convenient than where they keep them now. And they should offer reusable bags at a lower price. But neither of these is a deterrent! Support your local establishments. It's what keeps a neighborhood, a...
Read moreI'm always in this store, at least 2x a week for the past 23 years. Most of the workers are helpful and courteous. The so-called manager, David is definitely not included. He clearly needs customer service and management classes because he does NOT know how to treat loyal customers. What happened to the customer is always right? Not only does he think he's always right, but he'll fight you to the death when he doesn't even fully know the situation presented to him. IGNORANCE! So now he cost the store 2 customers. It may not sound like a lot, but l'm sure we spend enough in a few weeks to pay their electric bill. I'm also sure that l'm not the first customer he's offended, and definitely will not be the last. A few shoppers have seen him arguing and actually getting loud with other customers. He is loud and obnoxious. They may want to rethink their...
Read moreSmall, crowded during peak hrs.... Not the cleanest -- especially the dairy area where they don't bother cleaning the shelves of spills at which pt. the milk, egg, etc. containers are more than likely e. coli (and other nasty bacteria) breeding grounds and will contaminate anything they come in contact with. Particularly icky is the egg area =(
The prices on fresh fruit and veggies are sky high when compared to local businesses providing locally sourced produced and the items are definitely not as fresh.
It's a convenience, though.... I won't buy fruits & veggies from them unless absolutely necessary, but some of the other stuff is alright.
It's a busy madhouse on Sundays, in particular... Absolutely no pleasure in navigating the place at its busiest times. Make sure to watch the ringing up of your purchases as sale prices are often not...
