Andy’s Delicatessen — Restaurant in New York

Owner - please respond and explain to me why you think its acceptable to charge $8.80 for a mediocre, small, unfulfilling roast beef sandwich. Today is the second day in a row i left your establishment unhappy. Today, i ordered a roast beef sandwich on a roll, lettuce, tomato, swiss cheese, mayo , black pepper. There is not much meat on the sandwich, not much of anything , the roll is stale and hard and clearly from yesterday. You charged me almost $9 dollars for this , why do you think this is an acceptable price? I can go anywhere and get a sandwich of this caliber for $5.75-$6.50. Yesterday i ordered roast beef, fresh mozz ,, roasted red peppers, lettuce, tomato , oil, vinegar and black pepper on a whole wheat hero , ok , the sandwich was good, but heres my problem , i picked up a small bag of chips, got a quarter llb of mac salad, and a drink (not a big drink, a normal sized drink) this all cost me roughly $18 dollars. OWner - i have news for you , that is not normal. It is not normal that a sandwich with drinks and chips cost 18 dollars. NOT NORMAL. IT would be one thing if you had a fancy location with lots of seating, maybe your rent would be high which would justify these outragous prices, but you dont - you have a second rate garbage location thats actually out of the way , with zero seats - your rent is NOTHING, that tells me the only thing motivating your prices is pure GREED. $9 for a small roast beef sandwich? THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. 18$ for lunch with a couple sides and a drink - UNACCEPTABLE. Pure greed. ...

I am a local neighbor that has frequented this deli for many years back to when it was owed by Brian when it was run better and had standards. They always have a tip jar in front even before tipping went out of control. Tip is to ensure proper service. I went their today albeit later in the day around 4 and ordered a b6 turkey with egg whites. Was told by a worker who I has served me many times in the past "We don't make any egg sandwiches past 1pm." I mentioned my wife wasn't feeling well and this is what she had asked for. He didn't offer to make the sandwich. Had they accommodated this one time request from an area resident this would be deserving of a tip and is what customer service is about. I will no longer ever order from Andy's Delicatessen again and will be sure to tell my story. Unacceptable. I am a reasonable person, I am tired of everyone wanting praise for doing their job. When the time came where they could have helped me out they didn't, I know it is not expected and they are entitled to not fulfil my request, I am entitled to choose to after 15 years of patronage to never set foot in this location again. Since this business was sold to the Indian and now they have Mexican workers immigrants that don’t understand English or Spanish. I’m talking to them in Spanish they don’t understand me they make the sandwich wrong every time I go in there. I drive off the sandwich and it’s all wrong then I eat it today March 19 I go in get a sandwich open it in the car and it’s wrong again so this time I go back to the store I give it to the guy I show him did he ask me what should he do about it? So I left the sandwich there and walked out. I advise everybody in the neighborhood don’t go into this deli it’s trash. The guys that worked there rude and greedy for money. Don’t know English the only good thing about that place is the lady that works that she’s very nice and very sweet but unfortunately she wasn’t there today so she had the idiots Working today the register and taking notice I’m gonna report them to 311 and department health and consumer fairs.
