Metropolitan Garden Design — Local services in New York

I found Metropolitan Garden Design via google along with 3 other vendors. Ben (the owner) was the only one who was responsive and hands on during the biding process, he came onsite to look at the space and made a plan with me right there on how we should move forward. Cost was more than fair, they are not overpriced and Ben does not try to upsell you on equipment and extras that are not needed. I had to actually talk him into upgrading us to a wifi enabled system even though we really did not need it for our small garden. Once work started, Ben and his team were amazing, they removed our old irrigation system, installed a new one with new controls, removed and disposed of some large old planters, set up the wifi features, trained us on how to use them, and cleaned everything up afterwards, lava rocks along the perimeter to cover the piping as well. This was all done in 2 days. I cant say enough about how smoothly this job went, and Ben was here each day to ensure everything was ok. Ben also stopped by unsolicited a couple of weeks after to just to make sure we were happy with the system and to look it over himself. We will be using Metropolitan Garden Design for all future gardening projects. Thank you again Ben...

I started working with Metropolitan Garden Design in the spring of 2021 and currently have an annual irrigation contract in place as well as spring and fall garden maintenance. Unlike other vendors I’ve worked with in the past, Ben is extremely responsive and pro-active. He reaches out to schedule seasonal irrigation increases or decreases before I even think about it…and if I have any plant disease questions he can’t immediately identify, he gets back to me soon after with suggestions. There are no hidden fees in his pricing - if you need something extra (eg fixing or replacing drip lines) he’ll run it by you first before doing anything…no bait and switch techniques here. I’d highly recommend giving this company a try if you have or want a low maintenance terrace or patio garden...

Ben and his team installed an entire irrigation system for both of my rooftop terrace gardens last minute before I had to go out of town. So quick and professional, they got the whole order and install done in a few days. There's even an app you can get on your phone to view and control the garden's water usage with their system. Then they came back to make sure it was all shut down for winter. Really great, quick, amazing service that saved the garden during my time out of town! Not to mention, even when I was home, it has honestly never looked more lush. Will definitely be contacting them for garden services...
