If you're a fan of cheese, then you absolutely have to check out this small cheese shop that I recently discovered. I had the pleasure of visiting this shop last week, and I have to say that I was blown away by how amazing the food was. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made for a really enjoyable shopping experience. The selection of cheese, meat, and fresh bread was really impressive. There were so many different types of cheese to choose from, and I was delighted to see that they carried some of my personal favorites. The quality of the products was top-notch, and it was clear that the shop takes great care to ensure that everything they sell is of the highest quality. The service was excellent, too. Monger's Palate has been around for almost 10 years, but it's only when Carol took over from the previous owner that the place blossomed into one of the best stops for shopping in Greenpoint. It is as curated and focused as a small record store or a cool bookshop, without any of the hipster attitude that ruined so many places in the neighborhood. Carol is a superior cheesemonger, who’s not only very knowledgeable and passionate about what she does, she’s also sweet and very patient with her customers, including the most high-maintenance. Monger's Palate is my favorite local shop! I will absolutely invent excuses to go shop there, stocking up on delicious cheeses and breads for the week. All of the prelude up to the cheese counter is not to be ignored - I've discovered my family's new favorite biscuits there, I didn't understand delicious almonds until I tried the marcona almonds, my fascination with cultured butter is now enough of a hobby to go on my CV, and the pastries are truly amazing. I am constantly fielding familial requests to bring them to the next gathering. The sandwiches are out of this world delicious, I am so glad to have discovered them.
