Pure Qi Spa — Local services in New York

I had went here today because my sister had booked an appointment for my bday. I called an hour early and said that I was running late due to delays and wasn’t sure how long it should be, but I figured it should be 30 mins or so. My sister stated that when scheduling the appointment, they said she had to do it as a gift card for me. When I get there, they canceled it and charged her card that was on file and not “the gift card” and I figured that it would’ve transferred onto the gift card and charge that, not her so I was confused. The Receptionist man CHEN, was trying to “accommodate me” in the midst of “accommodating” he wanna say that I looked confused and UGLY then kept laughing. I did ask for the person above him info and they said “he’s on vacation” the girl worker that I spoke to was justifying his behavior, saying English is not his first language and that maybe I misinterpreted it. HOW DO YOU MISINTERPRET SOMEBODY CALLING YOU UGLY?? Then they wanna start speaking in their language. Keep in mind I’m the only BLACK person there & had blue hair etc. & a man (who I assumed was Hispanic) overheard some things going on and said you’re not even ugly what is he talking about? ( if you see me in person, I’m far from ugly) and this was a HORRIBLE FIRST EXPERIENCE AT THIS PLACE...

This was such a relaxing experience! I got the H package that included a 60 min massage and a 60 min facial. Tom was my masseuse and idk I think we should get married?! He's the first male masseuse I've ever had; it felt like he did a lot more than I'm used to, stretching out my legs and arms and reallyyy getting in my shoulders with his fingertips, which I desperately needed! He even discovered a spot in my lower back that I pulled months ago and worked it out, without my saying anything. It was the best massage of my life periodt.

My facial was with Luna. I've had mini facials in the past; this was my first full or deluxe or whatever the proper label is. The lights were dimmed and the room had a soothing effect, much like the massage room. They gave me a robe to change into and she comfortably pulled my fro back. She was very gentle and very precise; she literally didn't get a single drop of water or product anywhere off my face. If you've never had extractions either, it feels like a little pinch, not painful enough to remember once it's over. I don't know what happened after that because I fell asleep but when it was over, my face looked amazing 🥰

I am so grateful to have found Pure Qi Spa!! What a gem! I am in my third trimester and am feeling many aches and pains - particularly in my hips and feet. I was looking for a couples package to end our urban babymoon mini getaway on a rejuvenating note. The staff was responsive to my online inquiry and provided a detailed text of their recommended options. When we arrived, the staff were welcoming and gracious! The masseuse were very attentive to providing a relaxing and therapeutic experience! They ensured my positioning was comfortable and safe during the experience, and the deep tissue massage on my hip area was like oil for the gears - my creaky stiff joints feel so much better!! If you’re sensitive to pressure the deep tissue approach will not be “relaxing” in the moment but for me the temporary pain was worth it! The leg reflexology was also incredibly healing and relaxing for me. My husband also got his knots untangled and felt great. And their rates are very reasonable and 100% worth it.
