At the request of my doctor I had to return for an additional blood test. My Doctor told me that I could present at the office any time during business hours but that it was wise to call ahead. On the morning of the day that I was available to have the blood drawn I called the office and spoke with someone. I explained what my Doctor had told me regarding coming at any time, calling ahead so that the office knew I was coming in. I told the person on the phone that I would be there before 11am. She said that she would let the Front Desk know and everything was fine.
When I arrived at 200 W. 57th Street offices at 10:40am, I went to the receptionist and relayed to her all the same info that I told the person on the phone. The Receptionist told me that I would have to wait indefinitely because there were patients with appointments in the office and that I would have to wait until the Nurse was available. I asked how long that would be, seeing as how I had already called ahead, and that I needed to be at work at 12pm. I was told that she could not tell me how long the wait would be and that I would be seen after all patients with appointments were seen by the Nurse.
This was entirely unacceptable seeing how I followed all instructions from my doctor about calling ahead of time, and was told by the person on the phone that yes, I could come to the office before 11am that day. Now I was being told that I would have to wait an indefinite amount of time to be seen. I was very upset and tried to express that this is NOT what I had been told by two other people. I completely understand having to wait but not an indefinite amount of time. Nobody should be expected to wait potentially hours in the office. I asked the Receptionist if it was a wait of 20 minutes or 3 hours and she said that she didn't know. She then said that "This is why we tell people to go directly to LabCorp for testing." That was never given to me as an option. I said that I could not wait and that if the only way to get the blood drawn was to make an appointment I asked to make one. The receptionist looked up available appointment times, and all were on a day that I have to be at work. I can't drop work for a 5 minute blood draw. Who can? That is why I had called ahead to get the blood drawn that morning. I told the receptionist that I wanted to get a message to my doctor who was in the office that I was not going to get the test done and that it was the office's fault. The Receptionist went into the back and came back later that she had told my Doctor my message. I don't know how or what she actually told her, but I'm sure that it wasn't that the office had made a mistake. I was then told that the nurse would see me shortly.
After waiting a total of 40 minutes I was finally called in to see the nurse who had so much bad attitude that she didn't even speak to me while I was there. She was visibly angry at me, I assumed because she had been told by the receptionist about my ire. I can't believe that a nurse would treat a patient like that. I told her that I knew that it wasn't her fault, but that patients should not be given wrong information and then denied the service that they had been told they would get. It was only after I spoke directly to the Nurse that she even looked me in the eyes.
I was very angry at this experience. The receptionist blamed the Call Center for giving me the wrong information. But actually it was my Doctor AND the call center who both confirmed that it was ok for me to come on that day. The receptionist was entirely to blame for not problem solving this situation. I had done EVERYTHING that I was told to do prior to showing up at the office. Instead, the Receptionist dug her heels in, told inflammatory stories to the Nurse and possibly the Office Manager and my Doctor as well.
If the Call Center and Front Desk cannot provide correct information to the patients, you are not providing a good service to...
Read moreNo service! Horrible experience, they don't care. I was left sick, with no attendance and no medication. All I needed was 1 min follow up video call with Dr Packianathan, every 6 months, so she can send prescription to the pharmacy. Beyond frustrated experience to have a simple video call. I am an IT engineer. They send schedule and messages through "MyChart" app and after scheduled and paid through the app, the video call button simply doesn't work! When I click "begin visit", it opens Safari browser app and says "browser not supported". I even tried Chrome without success. Spoke with front desk who asked to give it a try with a different app "mymountsinai"?? I never received information about how to do a video call through them. I downloaded and tried same login as they told me so. It says "invalid" information when I input my information and even try to reset password. Platforms simply don't work. I also spoke to front desk who could not solve and didn't know how to solve this issue and could not help me with anything, they didn't know what they were doing. They put the blame on me saying that I had login issues and could call the app's IT support, but I was already logged into "MyChart". I also asked if Dr could call me instead and they said no, the only way is a video call, but their video call does not work, "begin video" does not work! It's a horrible experience as a client. So much trouble to just have a 1min call that didn't happen. It's 2021 and this office in midtown Manhattan is unable to service and support what they sell. I am looking for another provider who can help me. I feel helpless. This place is a joke.
You can’t believe it gets worse. I called them requesting my medical records and test results a few days later. They said a rep will call me back within 2 hours. No one called the entire day. Why making false promises? I visited the office personally the next day and they said they should have told me I have to fill a form, failed again. I filled the form onsite and it took a week to...
Read moreTHE BERLIN 🧱 WALL Once upon a time, there was a man named Morgan who lived in West Berlin during the Cold War. He had a medical condition that required him to see his doctor on the other side of the Berlin Wall in East Berlin. But getting through to his doctor was impossible, or so he thought sarcastically Morgan decided to take matters into his own hands and came up with a plan. He went to a hardware store and bought some wire cutters, a ladder, and a disguise. He waited until nightfall and snuck up to the wall. He carefully climbed the ladder and used the wire cutters to snip a hole in the barbed wire fence. He then put on his disguise and walked through the hole into East Berlin.
Once he was on the other side, he walked to his doctor's office. He was nervous that someone would recognize him, but he made it to the doctor's office without incident. The doctor was surprised to see Morgan but was happy to treat him.
After his appointment, Morgan made his way back to the wall. He climbed back through the hole and patched it up as best he could. He then returned to his home in West Berlin.
Morgan felt proud of himself for getting through to his doctor, even though it was impossible sarcastically. He knew that he had taken a big risk, but it was worth it to get the medical treatment he needed. From then on, he made a habit of sneaking into East Berlin for his appointments. He was careful to avoid detection, but he never gave up on getting the care he needed.
Tear down...
