I’ve been shopping here for about 5 years. I spend hundreds of dollars a month on supplements and other items so the cashier that’s usually in the front knows me and he is always very professional and nice.
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I haven’t had much experience with the pharmacists so they don’t know who I am. But as of late the cashiers have been busy, so I’ve been placing specialty orders with the pharmacists. Each time I have to place an order or ask the pharmacist questions, I am greeted with a dismissive attitude or straight up ignored. They only seem to perk up when they realize how much money I’m spending.
Today, the woman pharmacist was clearly on a personal phone call and blatantly ignored me for 10 minutes. And when the cashier finally caught her attention, she acted like I was bothering her with my inquiry. All I wanted to know was whether or not my order had arrived. But because she didn’t recognize me, I was a nuisance and I wasn’t worth her time.
It seems like if the pharmacists are unsure whether or not you’re going to spend money, then you’re not important to them. I also can’t help but think it’s racial profiling because I’ve never seen any white customers have to deal with terrible service like this. If this is how they treat long term customers/people of color, I cannot continue giving them my business nor will I be able to recommend them. Although it is cheaper to order supplements online, I enjoy supporting local/small businesses. But if it’s less aggravation to shop elsewhere, I guess that’s what it’s come to.
EDIT (in response to pharmacist's response): Saying you are sorry that I feel this way is not a real apology and is your way of refuting all culpability. But let's say that the phone call was not in fact a personal call. You still did the following: you saw me waiting for 10 minutes and not once did you take 2 seconds to say something along the lines of "I will be right with you" or anything to acknowledge me. In fact, you looked at me, saw me waiting and hunched back down to hide behind the counter. As I was waiting, I saw the cashier put a call on hold and send it to your phone and you ignored that phone call too. Once you hung up with whoever you were speaking to, you answered the 2nd caller even though I was clearly waiting before the 2nd caller had called you. Your cashier even tried to tell you that, but you ignored him too. Once you realized the 2nd caller had hung up after being on hold for so long, you asked me what I wanted in a very nasty tone and I clearly stated what I was there for. You then asked if I was there for a prescription and I said no. You asked for my name and I gave it to you. You asked what I needed again and at this point I had had enough of your cavalier and angry attitude so I left.
And as I mentioned in my initial review, this was not the first time the pharmacy has been rude and dismissive. Every encounter has been negative. So this is not only about you, Maya, but I have to say your behavior stuck out the most and it was the final straw. As an owner, one would think that you'd be a bit more invested in the customer experience. I sincerely feel sorry for the front staff that has to deal with such a hostile work...
Read moreNature might not have a fancy website but their custom service is the absolute best i've found in 15 years of living in NYC. There's a large chain pharmacy down the street that normally use but they couldn't fill what I needed as it was "no longer being manufactured" they told me to call doctor and ask for an alternative. Not satisfied, I went to Nature's who called my Doc and found an alternative instead of putting it on me to figure out. It turns out the medication was still being manufactured but it wasn't being distributed through the big chain's suppliers. Over the next week I'd have several specialty prescriptions that I needed immediately and each time the big chain would not be able to fill it quickly. Nature was on top of it and informed me of expected delivery times, Nature stepped in and had no issues calling me or receiving my frequent calls as to whether or not my prescription was delivered and ready. This was a huge difference from the big pharmacy who would get delivery at noon but for some reason wouldn't let me pick it up until after 5pm even though it was an emergency.
As long as my insurance will let me fill at Nature I will use them instead of the 3 letter mega chain...
