recently visited your salon and, unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience with my haircut. The hairstylist who attended to me seemed disinterested in his work and rushed through the entire process. My haircut, including the blow-dry, was completed in just 10-15 minutes, and the layering was poorly done—he simply used scissors to chop my hair unevenly. As a result, I had to visit another salon to fix the mistake, but the only real solution was to cut my hair even shorter, which I did not want. Now, I have no choice but to tie my hair every day to hide the mess. This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I got a haircut in Sunday 16 with a tall dark brown hair male. The lady who wash my hair to called him twice to take a customer to the chair.

I went to the TikTok famous Terry and he did an excellent job with my hair. The thing that didn’t quite sit well with me here was the pricing. They charged me $37 dollars for cut and blowout. I understood that longer hair was going to cost more money, my hair is just past my shoulders, however there were 2 girls before me (Asian) that had MUCH longer hair than me and were only charged $30 for the exact same service. I didn’t question it (although I should have) but it did bother me and I probably wouldn’t return because of that unfortunately

Walked into a few salons in the area who would take me in; I’m glad I found New Ocean Salon. I asked for highlights and cut and I am blown away by the results. While I was there for 3 hours, it was nonstop business as I was watching the door opening every 5 minutes. All stylists worked tirelessly; everyone’s hair was beautiful with the great blow out they do. Thank you Terry and team. I will be coming here from now on! Note- cash only and prices are reasonable.

This was my first time here, and for $30, I wasn’t expecting luxury service. However, based on the TikToks and positive reviews, I expected at least a good shampoo and blowout. Upon arrival, I was immediately taken to the wash bowl—the shampoo was done well, and I appreciated the care from the person who washed my hair.

Unfortunately, the stylist who gave me the blowout was disappointing. As soon as I sat in his chair, he handed me a paddle brush and asked me to detangle my own hair—I was shocked. I have wavy-straight, long hair that falls just below my chest, and it only took me two minutes to detangle it, but I found it odd to do this myself when paying for a service.

I requested a fluffy blowout, but the stylist used the hottest setting on the hair dryer and wrapped my ends around a small round brush. Instead of twirling the brush back and forth to create smooth curls, he held the hot dryer directly on my wrapped ends, leaving them dry and crunchy. I could even smell my hair being damaged from the excessive heat. While the final look wasn’t terrible, my hair felt dry, and the ends were noticeably brittle. I couldn’t wait to go home, wash it out, and apply a repairing mask to hopefully reverse the damage.

While I haven’t tried the other stylists, I wouldn’t recommend the man who did my hair—he had black hair with blonde highlights. Despite the experience, I still tipped both him and the person who washed my hair, but I won’t...

My go-to salon, love this place. EDIT: This used to be such a rare gem for me, but the quality has gone down in both craft and customer service.

I can never be seen by Michelle, it seems. I once drifted off in her chair a couple years back after a very long day at work while she was cutting my hair. I was just nodding off, but I was awake enough to know when my hair was done, if that makes sense. She’s refused to do my hair since.

I also came in recently and there was a new guy with an ear piercing who I’ve not seen here before, and I had been going since early 2019. My hair cut was $30 and I tipped $20. This man told me it was not enough and told me to go to the nearest Chase to get more, so I ended up tipping the same amount as the haircut itself.

My hair was also not done as I asked. I specifically wanted short curtain bangs to frame my face yet ended up again, for the third time in a row here, with limp bangs that start at my chin on my already long face.

I travel from Queens for this place, so I think in future I’ll just pay the extra $20 to have it done...

I had one of the worst experiences at this salon. The stylist seemed completely uninterested from the moment I walked in and didn't even bother to listen to what I wanted. I specifically showed a photo of the haircut I was going for, but what I ended up with was a choppy, uneven mess. The stylist was rushing through the entire process like they had somewhere better to be.

The place itself was dirty and had hair all over the floor from previous customers. The tools didn’t look like they were properly cleaned—just not sanitary at all. And don’t even get me started on how rude the staff was. When I politely asked if they could fix the uneven cut, they got defensive and acted like it was my fault.

To top it off, they charged way more than the service was worth. It was honestly a waste of time and money. If you care about your hair, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. This place does not care about their clients or quality service. Absolutely would...
