This was my first time here, and for $30, I wasnât expecting luxury service. However, based on the TikToks and positive reviews, I expected at least a good shampoo and blowout. Upon arrival, I was immediately taken to the wash bowlâthe shampoo was done well, and I appreciated the care from the person who washed my hair.
Unfortunately, the stylist who gave me the blowout was disappointing. As soon as I sat in his chair, he handed me a paddle brush and asked me to detangle my own hairâI was shocked. I have wavy-straight, long hair that falls just below my chest, and it only took me two minutes to detangle it, but I found it odd to do this myself when paying for a service.
I requested a fluffy blowout, but the stylist used the hottest setting on the hair dryer and wrapped my ends around a small round brush. Instead of twirling the brush back and forth to create smooth curls, he held the hot dryer directly on my wrapped ends, leaving them dry and crunchy. I could even smell my hair being damaged from the excessive heat. While the final look wasnât terrible, my hair felt dry, and the ends were noticeably brittle. I couldnât wait to go home, wash it out, and apply a repairing mask to hopefully reverse the damage.
While I havenât tried the other stylists, I wouldnât recommend the man who did my hairâhe had black hair with blonde highlights. Despite the experience, I still tipped both him and the person who washed my hair, but I wonât...
Read moreMy go-to salon, love this place. EDIT: This used to be such a rare gem for me, but the quality has gone down in both craft and customer service.
I can never be seen by Michelle, it seems. I once drifted off in her chair a couple years back after a very long day at work while she was cutting my hair. I was just nodding off, but I was awake enough to know when my hair was done, if that makes sense. Sheâs refused to do my hair since.
I also came in recently and there was a new guy with an ear piercing who Iâve not seen here before, and I had been going since early 2019. My hair cut was $30 and I tipped $20. This man told me it was not enough and told me to go to the nearest Chase to get more, so I ended up tipping the same amount as the haircut itself.
My hair was also not done as I asked. I specifically wanted short curtain bangs to frame my face yet ended up again, for the third time in a row here, with limp bangs that start at my chin on my already long face.
I travel from Queens for this place, so I think in future Iâll just pay the extra $20 to have it done...
Read moreI had one of the worst experiences at this salon. The stylist seemed completely uninterested from the moment I walked in and didn't even bother to listen to what I wanted. I specifically showed a photo of the haircut I was going for, but what I ended up with was a choppy, uneven mess. The stylist was rushing through the entire process like they had somewhere better to be.
The place itself was dirty and had hair all over the floor from previous customers. The tools didnât look like they were properly cleanedâjust not sanitary at all. And donât even get me started on how rude the staff was. When I politely asked if they could fix the uneven cut, they got defensive and acted like it was my fault.
To top it off, they charged way more than the service was worth. It was honestly a waste of time and money. If you care about your hair, save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. This place does not care about their clients or quality service. Absolutely would...
