I can’t believe that I am living in NYC because of the terrible dirtiness of the city and the carelessness of the sanitation department regarding the city cleanliness. I see garbage more than these disgusting pictures everyday, everywhere, every moment. All the city needs to be cleaned everyday, and I sent an email to the department to make a kind of employment dedicated to clean the sidewalks everyday rather than only relying on the property cleaning (this happens in most of the countries and very effective for cleanliness), but they sent me a formal email including some requirements which I see that it’s not valid for cleanliness any more and the pictures are the evidence. Moreover, all the sidewalks including a huge number of the black dot spots spreading all over the sidewalks which are very disgusting and needs to be cleaned by persons dedicated to erase those spots. I have captured all of these pictures on the same day and many of their places are still have the garbage remaining till now from many weeks, even after I contacted the sanitation department by many emails. Unfortunately, my contact with the department (which is a long story) was very disappointing.

I was harassed yesterday by 2 sanitation workers in Rockaway Beach B101 Street and Shore Front Parkway.. They were on foot crossing the street against the red light, I had green light (near B94th and CBB exit ramp), I drove by them and kept on driving. Seven blocks later I pulled over to park car and next thing I know they pulled their truck right behind mine and stopped me from pulling into the spot. They got out of their truck, came up to my car and started yelling at me that my car got to close to them when they were jay walking. This occurred Saturday June 15th 8:30AM. Pictures show they are from QE14 depot near Beach 50th in Far Rockaway. I called 311 to complain, then NYPD came at 10AM and we discussed what happened. See pictures of workers and their truck. I will be making formal complaint of harassment and lack of professionalism.

The NYC Department of Sanitation always responds to calls of trash overflows, chronic dumping...And they do the job promptly, professionally and the last time they cleaned up in our neighborhood, Blake Avenue in Brooklyn, the two workers did an amazing job...Here's the commendation they received... Thank you to all the hard working men and women of The Department of Sanitation... Once again, today Saturday November 20th the employees are doing an excellent job, cleaning debris, leaves, and dumped trash... Thank you for keeping our neighborhoods clean...to the men and women of NYC Sanitation, Happy Holidays to you and your familys....

the front of PS 001 School in chinatown is like a garbage dump I have never seen anything like it in my life and sanitation will not keep it clean the sanitation is doing nothing for the community but lowering the self worth of these children our greatest treasure not even in third world countries are the schools so dirty like ps1 in chinatown these kids walk through broken glass lead paint boxes filled with old food scraps dirty mattresses with bed bugs in front of the school minority schools are like left like garbage transfer stations while the school that the other races are spotless clean meaning it is time sanitation break away from the racism and bias toward the minority children attending school in chinatown and take pride in keeping all schools clean as I know that is what they would want for there children understand sanitation workers just do what there boss tells them to do I feel this leaving the schools like a transfer station is coming from the top supervisors here in chinatown meaning if they did not want the school used as a garbage dump it would not and it is not the school they have cans that they put everything in and have been working really hard at keeping it clean it is sanitation job to keep the front of the school clean and should be priority one we need new supervisors with that vision for chinatown now and the senator Brian Kavanagh and assembly member yuh-line niou does...

Used to live in Boro Park many years ago. Our neighborhood was kept clean by each person that lived there and with the hard working sanitation workers. The job is physical and not an easy one but they did it well. The benefits are good and were deserved. Moved to Bensonhurst, years ago and still their was a level of pride that the sanitation workers had with the neighborhood they serviced. Not the cast anymore. We as home owners should and do keep our property swept and put our trash containers on the street for easy access. Today I just witnessed a sanitation man throw the containers back to the street like a basketball after emptying. It's discusting. Not the first time. I used to stand out there when they came and said good morning and it was a different story. But I shouldnt have to. Where is the pride in ones job? In the private sector I would be counciled and eventually fired for such conduct. Lets raise the bar, start holding people accountable! I love Brooklyn but its times like this...
