I had the pleasure of visiting Royal Hair Salon on Broadway recently for a haircut and facial, and I couldn't be more impressed with the service provided by Surendra and Neelam. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable.

I found Royal Hair Salon through Licensed to Glow and booked a haircut (60 mins) at 10am. When I walked in, my stylist already had someone in the chair for what appeared to be a cut/shave and asked me to come back in 30 minutes. No problem - I understand it's a small business, happy to grab a coffee around the corner and wait. At 10:30am, my appointment began with a wash. This felt rushed and I was left with a decent amount of conditioner in my hair. The cut itself was okay, but what i'd expect from a mega chain salon - a little choppy, a little uneven, not very polished. The part that really took me by surprise was when when the cut was "done" the stylist simply took off the cape and said thanks for coming. My hair was still very wet and covered in conditioner. I was so stunned I just handed him the cash tip I had prepared for the full service and walked out. My entire appointment barely took 20 minutes.

From the reviews, it looks like others have had wonderful experiences so I don't know if it was just an off day or had something to do with the fact I booked through Licensed to Glow, but I will not be back - which is definitely a bit of a shame because I'm in the neighborhood and was looking for a regular salon...
