NYC Department of Finance 21 — Local services in New York

I owe like $700 in Parking Tickets my car has been booted like 5 times I pay the Down payment to get the Boot off and get on a payment plan they take me off the Payment Plan a Boot my car this has been done like 5 times this year one time I payed what I owed and they Still Booted my Car I am Being Targeted and Harrassed by the Department of Finance and the Booting Company my Bank has been taking all the Booting Down Payments I have put Down I do not have any Funds The Department of Finance and The Booting Company thinks I am Rich I am Just a Normal Health Care Worker that works 9 to 5 live Paycheck to Paycheck to Support my Family they are Targeting me and Harassing for Money that I Don’t Have !!!! I need a Lawyer to take my Case They even Cancel my Registration because they want my Money so Bad !!!! I am a Victim of Scam by the Department of NYC Finance if there’s a Lawyer out there that wants to take my Case Please The Dept of NYC Finance have taken from me over $3000.00 this year in Down Payments Thank God the Bank has taken back some of those Funds back this People are very evil they do not care if you have food or if you go Homeless paying theses Booting Down Payments.I have made Complaints on 311,I made a Complaint to Mayor Adams.Just so tired of the Harrassing...

Awful department. I got a ticket for expired registration and disputed it online because my registration was renewed by my sticker was expired. They apparently held a hearing I was not notified by mail, there was possibly an email that went to my junk folder which I was checking often to see if they would notify me, but if there was I missed it. But still, they certainly notified me about my original ticket by mail why wouldn’t they notify me about a hearing by mail. Then since I never heard from them they sent me a default judgment by mail this time, with an extra late fee. I tried to have these assshats waive the fee and I would pay the original fine, but no they wouldn’t waive it. On Long Island if you get these kinds of tickets they at least give you the curtesy of showing them proof by bring it to the precinct the next day and they will wave the ticket. Just goes to show NYC only cares about screwing their citizens out of money any way they can. No wonder people are moving out of this useless...

The guy that wrote this review is spot on. Bravo. I cold not have said it better. The Mayor needs to be fired as he is totally incompetent! I am just going to reiterate that I had the same horrible experience.

As part of the Mayor's continuing effort to "hoodwink" the public into thinking everything is OK and peachy-keen, the DOF telephone number now puts you into 3-1-1 where the sleeping call-takers NEVER answer the phone AND if they do, absolutely CANNOT help you! Between this clown @ City Hall and the other nitwit up in Albany, it is NO WONDER decent, tax-paying residents are leaving IN BULK from this city and NEVER looking back. At some point in the not-too-distant-future, only those on the DOLE will be here, with a sprinkling of wealthy persons with too much disposable income that NEED to be here because of their jobs. Good luck to those who stay and persist to muddle through the imposition of fines, traffic cameras, congestion, indifference, etc. etc. and ZERO...
