NYU Langone Radiology—Faculty Practice Radiology — Local services in New York

I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with this imaging department. It's terrible. The scheduling was completely chaotic and the staff were extremely rude. My son had two CT scans scheduled but were both cancelled without any reason. The appointment was set for 7:30 AM on Tuesday. We arrived at the hospital at 7 AM to register and wait for the scan, but a technician informed us that it had been cancelled. At first, she said that according to the instructions of the radiology doctor, she had communicated with the referring doctor and felt that my son didn't need this test for the time being. Later, she said that their imaging department couldn't perform this scan because my son was too young and needed to go to another hospital. Then she was very impatient and simply said that “you could wait here. Anyway, today it just couldn't be done. I was very busy and had to go to work. ”She walked away very rudely. We didn't know what had happened and didn't receive a reasonable explanation. There was no communication between the staff either. We called the referring doctor office the imaging department yesterday. both of the staff confirmed the appointments with us , also MYCHART kept sending us reminders to come for the scan. When reporting today， the front desk of the imaging department didn't know that there was a problem with the appointment and processed the registration anyway. Everything was absurd, yet it just happened like that. This kind of thing has happened more than once. In 2023, they handled things in this way. There were two imaging departments in the hospital, located in different buildings. When we reported to one of the imaging departments as per the notice, the staff said they couldn't perform this examination and transferred our appointment to another imaging department. We had to go to the second imaging department, only to be told that the appointment had been cancelled that day and needed to be rescheduled. Every time, they never informed the patients or gave a reasonable explanation at the last minute. They really don't care about or show concern for their patients. The new front staff manager was incredibly rude and inexperienced in knowing how to handle a semi-unique situation, leading to a deeply frustrating and borderline humiliating experience. To provide context to the matter at hand, I was recalled after my initial scan (for additional scans) since the radiologist doctor did not review and sign-off on my results at the time of my release. This report is of no reflection on the actual doctor and the technician who were EXCELLENT and who just wanted to make sure that I was ok. (I’ve had multiple surgeries, so I was grateful for their care.) Yes, it wasn’t ideal to have to come back for a second round of scans the very same day, but I understood the reasons why. This report is focused on the new front desk manager who made it close to impossible to get an updated copy of the medical CD for my records when I returned to pick it up the following week. She was incredibly unprofessional and careless in trying to convince her staff that the nullified CD (which was made before the second visit..), was “correct.” Eventually she came to talk to me directly with the supposedly updated CD which still reflected the earlier scan time.... (I gave up at that point) and was dismissive and rude and worst of all, set a really poor example in front of her staff in how a patient should be...

I've had nothing but terrible experiences with NYU Radiology. This is not the first but it will be the last time I deal with them. I was actually told if I didn't like dealing with them then I should go somewhere else and then hung up on it. They are absolutely the rudest people I've spoken to different people same results. I'm guessing they were raised by wolves because they have zero manners and respect what amazes me is the NYU Hospital/ Radiology has not gotten back to one person who has given a bad review which there are many. It speaks volumes on how they do not care about their patients! NYU Hospital has changed it's not the same anymore they just don't care. Thank you NYU for all the disrespect!
