This was by far my most bizarre and rushed experience at a nail salon. Ainslie Beauty Lounge was short-staffed so I had to wait about five minutes which I didn't mind. The person who greeted me asked me to have a seat in the waiting area before loudly berating one of the nail techs who simply seemed confused as to which waiting client she should work on first. There's a sign on the door indicating masks are required and yet two clients who were talking to each other and took phone calls for duration of my time there were maskless. When I was seated at the bar for my manicure, the tech assisting me proceeded to tell me not once, not twice, but three times how tired she perceived me to be. I'd been polite and answered her questions about my preferences and thanked her as she did so, so I have no idea why she felt the need to comment on my appearence. I was simply quiet, minding my own business waiting for my nails to be done. When she accidentally made me bleed, which I hadn't even noticed, she started telling me how dry my cuticles are as if it were my fault I'd been cut. I told her the cut was no big deal—accidents happen—but still she went on and on about my apparently faulty cuticles. My nails were done in 21 minutes—finished before the person next two me whose manicure had started a good 10 minutes before mine. The tech only massaged and put lotion on one of my hands and totally forgot the other. I clearly needed another coat as my natural nails are still visible beneath the color, the color doesnt even meet my cuticles, but it's clear they were on a time crunch despite have me wait when I was on time. I've never wanted to leave...
Read moreI’ve been going to this salon since they’ve opened their location. Very clean. Unfortunately their customer service has changed since I’ve starting going to this salon. They’ve accommodated me the few times I’ve gotten a gel mani that had chipped within 48 hours of getting them done. I spent 3 + hours at the salon yesterday. The technicians are usually able to create great nail art. Yesterday they were not, I expressed that I’d rather not have the nail art and they tried 3-4 more times. They had two different technicians try and were getting frustrated when I said I’d rather take it off. They were talking amongst themselves which made me anxious because I already felt bad they kept trying and it didn’t look nice. Finally we took the nail art off and finished my nails which ended up not being what I wanted at all. They were getting ready to close so I paid and messaged the salon immediately and let them know I was unhappy and just wanted to take the gel off without an additional service. I paid 120 for my total services plus a 20 dollar tip. They told me I could pay 15 for a gel removal or wait until I come in for another gel mani service so I wouldn’t have to pay the 15 dollars. I explained that I left anxious after my experience and didn’t want to keep anyone late but if I knew I had to spend more money I would have had them remove the gel last night. I didn’t ask for a refund or another service because these were supposed to be my holiday nails and simply can’t pay for two sets of nails during this time...
Read moreI booked this spot to get a pedicure and manicure before my upcoming vacation (along with a pedicure for my boyfriend). I showed up with unshaven legs because I have an appointment to get the waxed elsewhere and you can’t shave for at least 3-4 weeks prior. Well when sitting down in the pedicure station, my nail tech Dolores felt it was appropriate to make fun of me. She thought I wouldn’t understand her, but was wrong as I speak the language well enough to know I was being made fun of. But even if I didn’t, she made it incredibly obvious that she was laughing at me. In fact she even brought other nail techs over to laugh, point, and speak badly about me in front of my own face. They had no issue with the actual hair on the legs given that no one said anything about my boyfriend having hair on his legs. No they had an issue with me having hair because I’m a woman. Completely unprofessional and almost made me cry in their shop. Regardless of how Dolores felt about my body, she should not have gone out of her way to make me feel disgusting and unwelcome for a service I’m paying for. The pedicure itself was rushed and the paint job was uneven/sloppy. And I’m glad they forgot to book the manicure part of my appointment because after that experience I didn’t even want them to touch my body any further. Worst experience and will never be going back and will make sure to share my experience with others. I’d give 0...
